Well it lasted ~ 2 years / 10K miles @ 500HP. Fingers crossed it lasts a while longer @ 647. Otherwise i will go for a stronger block.

I think i will avoid using launch control too often - think I might break something too easily - it must be pushing the limits...

I did originally ask for 2 BAR boost but Bob said 'at that power level it will lift the heads and blow up'

If you look at the compressor map for the GTX3582R, it can reach close to full flow at 1.5 BAR anyway.

mmmm....so seems it would not be able to take anymore boost without probs or just specifically 2 bar?

Thats a quote from the email. Bobs view was that an EJ25 wont cope at 2 BAR with that sort of power, and I was told that he set it to 1.5 BAR instead. Sounds sensible from the other comments on this thread.

I have not yet picked it up, but I have an accurate DEFI guage, so I will soon see the actual boost once i collect it.

Yes, I'm absolutely certain it was a GTX3582.
It took 2.2 bar boost and Q16 race fuel to make 725bhp and only made 630bhp on Vpower @ 2.1 bar.
I wouldn't be questioning the result had I not first hand experience of the turbo in question

Well if its wrong, i will update the thread when i collect it, but likely that wont be for at least a week as API are quite a way from me and i work during the week...

Maybe Bob just lowered the boost at high RPM and i havnt got the full info.

Would the whole engine bay exhaust system and turbo being Zircotec'd make a significant difference?

Someone like Martyn would be in a better position than I to answer, but from my own car it shouldn't make a significant difference. I have lots of bits Zircotec'd with custom made exhaust system, but even mine isn't anywhere near your figs!

Perhaps, it may be an idea to take it to say RCM and see if you achieve the same figs on same boost and neat v power. As I said, I would love to run my car at that power figure on a fairly low boost as yours...infact I would want to turn the boost up just a tad to tickle the 700 mark....

I would be interested to see the graphs. Last time I used the dyno at API it was nor working correctly, and being a Dastek an inexperienced operator running a car with big power is likely to end up with some massive coastdown losses caused by inappropriate settings.

Case in point is SteveBT's car when it ran last year and made another 60 or whatever HP from nowhere at Motorscope!

Pinch of salt taken.

No such thing in regards to the DEFI boost gauge... afaik they all over-read by around .1bar.

Nice results by the way. Hope you enjoy it.

Bob Rawle made a point of commenting that mine was accurate versus his one, and that this was unusual so i have an exception to the rule....
