Indeed - the brand does cost Nissan a lot as GTRs are loss making

Undeniable good value though

I'm sure Nissan now make money on the GTR with their economies of scale, etc.

GT3RS, pah, it's 2011, there are quicker hot hatches

Nurburgring? Dont make me post the video of a TTRS wiping the floor with a pair of them either. Admit it Trout, you want 1

Quickest car of the day....so subjective...its like going into a hospital burns unit and saying "you're the prettiest"

What times did you run?

No, it actually was. Crail publishes all results online, you can even look at what I was racing by clicking on all the individual run numbers when you click on my tab...

http://www.crailraceway.co.uk/dragst...ate=2011-09-04

Best time was 11.69 @ 118.7mph. Car is stock bar a remap, stock exhaust, intercooler and intake. I'd take another tenth off that at santapod easy as the launch surface at Crail is very poor (If you dont believe me google crail launch surface)

I am decatting the car in the next few weeks and the aim is 11.49 with 420bhp.

A lot of Imprezas were there yesterday (Ayrshire scoobs?) they'll vouch how quick the mobile salon was

A couple of weeks before had a better list of cars. I was 4th on that day behind a GTR/R32 Skyline and a kit car. The GTR I believe is the quickest car on stock turbos in the UK, 670hp, stripped out. The R32 running around 700hp, the kit car no idea about. There was a 2011 GT3 (435bhp) there running mid 12's. Probably very similar to what Trouts 2010 GT3RS (444bhp) would run.

Regardless, 11.69 at 119mph is still very impressive. I remember how gobsmacked everyone was when Andy F's white RA ran 11.3 at 121(ish) at Crail a number of years back. Here we have a fully laiden hairdressers car with only a remap knocking on the doors of that time.

I know it's all relative, but in the last few years cars that are near standard and affordable to mere mortals are turning out acceleration times that just 8 or so years ago were the reserve of super cars or highly modified vehicles.

Exciting times if you ask me...

Volume, plus price hike, plus service gouging will all help.

Trout, when is the next generation 911 coming out? Is it going to be 998 series? How is depreciation holding out on your RS, did it take a hit with the 4.0 engine release?

The 997.2 was hit more by speculators than the 4.0.

The 4.0 is selling for stellar premiums, even by Porsche standards.
