I had a slight hiccup getting my license, funny now but at the time was a bit annoying.

I gave my mrs' grandad (local mayor so thought that would be good) as a reference for the officer to call. The guy came round, gave me the usual interview and then said he was going to ring my character witness. He rang him and worded it so badly that it totally confused my mrs' grandad and when the officer said my name he replied "who?" and with that the officer said "thankyou, goodbye". He turned to me and said, he's never heard of you (both me & my mrs' standing there like wtf) sorry, can't process the application further. Then my home phone rang and it was my mrs' grandad apologising saying the penny dropped too late and that the guy had confused him, he asked to speak to the officer. I offered the phone to him and he point blank refused to speak to him, total little hitler indeed. He even went on to call him unfit to be on the local council and a mayor if he was confused that easily.

It was so hard to bite my tongue and just let him leave. I got my boss to be a ref after that and it got sorted straight away but some people in jobs like this are totally pathetic.

Almost as bad as vosa testers lol

Lol should not laugh but you could not even make it up. Glad you got it sorted tho. You know what they say "absolute power corrupts absolutely" Or in this case a bit of power going to someone's head.

Update

Well I had my meeting with the officer this morning, thoroughly nice chap. All systems go.

He did bring up something from my past however as it wasnt a conviction it wasnt an issue and he seemed satisfied with my explanation.

Time to shop for a gun cabinet!

Well done just make sure that you get a slightly bigger gun cabinet as you may well end up buying additional shotguns in the future.
