Costume suggestions for rock and roll party

Having some serious lack of inspriation for a costume for a friends rock and roll party, the instructions say 'dress as your favourite rock star or music icon' but its quite hard to find a decent (and more importantly cheap) costume for a female rock star. My boyfriend is going as Sid Vicious and his costume is really easy!

Have double checked and pop icons are allowed too so that makes it a bit better.
Top options at the mo are cher, katie perry, shakira and kylie (last 2 are my bf's preferences)

I only know who 3 of those are, and would only be able to think of 1 song (Joan Jett - I love rock and roll). Think that may be my backup option, but the Kylie option is tempting as I already have hotpants (admittedly black rather than gold), not sure what accessories would work though.

Madonna 1980's style - backcomb your hair, loads of cheap bracelets, lacy gloves, a basque, mini-skirt worn over leggings etc

Shouldn't be too difficult to do and definitely more distinctive than Kylie as I couldn't really think of any accessories for that, just hot pants and a top - which could just been normal going out clothes.

Lol, if you read back through the thread, you'll see that the theme was changed to rock and roll and music icons to make it easier to find costumes.
