For those who want to know why SN is so quiet

There are loads of grim Imprezas round my way. I usually acknowledge other drivers, but sometimes i just want to curl up so i can't be seen. No you DON'T own a frikkin rally car, why make people think it is?? Seeing a decent unmolested one is rare.
As Mr Munkii mentioned, Moley only sees people who have the wit to look for niche insurers. A lot of the dross i see probably goes to Compare the Meerkat or something and takes the cheapest possible option, after not declaring any of their mods, awful stickers included...

The local 'chav chariots' of choice around this way are the Mk4 Astra and the Honda Civic.

I fit the profile in that I earn quite good money and work in IT, am fairly financially ok but my car buying is seriously limited by three kids and a wife that hates any car I like, so I bought a bloody Saab, next time I am going to buy what I want and not another bloody Saab, she got a Galaxy and a Fiat 500, my turn next !
Only came on to get some advice first time as was after a classic wagon, ended up with a Volvo 850 T5, second time it was Fiat Coupe Turbo then bloody Saabs, not more Swedish FWD nonsense !!!

Mr Moulson!!
Ceratinly, there is a proprtion of Scoob classic drivers with chav trumpet & drianpipe exhaust, but a lot of car enthusiasts still have high opinions of these cars - last week my neighbour (50) told me of how his mate walked by said "now thats's a car I like".
So we're still loved by some, and we were probably never cool anyway!

I have found it very quiet on most of the Subaru based forums recently.
Maybe they out about collecting there benefits, putting the latest RIPSPEED valve caps on or like me just heading out to do a deal to sell some good **** to some Corsa,Saxo or Civic Owners.
Word up.

So we all need to have the same exhaust / modifications, personal choice doesnt make it chav'ish. i cant belive how narrow minded some people are.
topics like like this will only serve 1 purpose and that is to loose members and prevent new 1s joining. i havent realy had much input on many things on here as there is always some1 ready to shoot you down with any new post or comment.

im 21 so i guess im one of the 3rd generation.
i would just like to say i completely agree with your point chopper, alot of the 3rd generation scooby owners are ****, and council estate kids in maccys carpark but i hope you dont tar us all with the same brush, as i have said im 21, i wanted a impreza since i was knee high and when i worked my way up i can now afford mine, but i work very hard for it and support my family (my mrs and 2 year old daughter) i suppose some will comment on the fact i have a child at my age.
What im trying to say is that we are not all the same, there are alot like me who work there nuts off to afford the things they like and support there families and most of all respect what they have, on the other hand (what i agree with you on) there are alot of idiots doing twice the limit with a full car of teens thinking they own the road, but you cant blame them for the fact that sn is dieing, the majority of the 1st generation seem to think that because they have been on this forum a while they own it, they feel they can belittle people for there cars, ideas, spelling ect... and due to this alot of people have stopped posting and moved to other sites, im not going to start naming and shaming but a few of the people on this forum perhaps even this thread have made me feel ashamed for the comments they make to new members and old, we are a community and when people are looking on this site they see alot of you 1st gens making people feel crap and then go away and say how scooby drivers are **** ect..
The first thing people say about this site is that 'its full of p**cks' when there is some good people on this site who are being put down by arrogant and narrow minded comments, just my imput.

Didn't spot many scoobs around my way until I got one myself. Had waves from a few newage hatches in my area. No idea how chav's would be able to afford a £16k+ car not to mention insure, run and maintain it. I'm yet to see a newage driven by someone my age at least in my area.
I'm in IT, not a homeowner (for another year or so) not married (not for another 5 years I hope) and 25... Got my car from my old man, not because it was "cool" or anything. Been a petrol head since a young age, just never been able to afford a performance car until now.

Never owned an Impreza, they've never really been my thing
The McRaes and Richard Burns in Elonex Legacys doing the British Championship were the main influence on my teenage years
I've not owned a Scoob for nearly 4 years now, but still come on here because despite some of the more 'awkward' moments, it's still one of the better forums

Aaahhh.... you must be one of those blokes who give free roofing quotes to old people then fleece them of their savings - even down to marching them down to the building society to draw out £2000 for a slipped eaves slate.

No, no, no... I've got it!! You're a spreader or a plumber! They're the only well-paid trades that don't involve writing or scruples.
