As a matter of principle Crypt i would never buy car parts like that anyway. It's all very well saying that you'll save a few £ by dealing with some random bloke but where do you think all the stolen Scoobs end up?
I'm not having a go at you personally but at the end of the day if there wasn't a willing marketplace for stolen cars/phones/etc theft may not be so prevalent.
I'll answer your original question too! If i had done a deal over the phone with you and then you changed things when delivery was made then we may have had "words" but if i had nothing to hide and was legitimate then maybe ,just maybe, i would have accepted your postdated cheque.

Exclamation

after youd agreed to pay the whole amount in cash. But then Id never accept
Let me stress for the last time that I DID NOT agree to pay cash. It hadnt been discussed at all. At the end of the day if the lad had gotten out of the van and not acted like a ***** right from the start i may of been more trusting. He gave me NO proof of address No proof of whom he was No proof of anything to say that the engine had come out of a rear ended car. If i had gone up to his place seen the car and heard the engine running then the grand cash would of been NO problem. Just seemed far too dodgy to me he was in too much of a hurry.

Cheers.
