I have a shoulder in the fridge that I was going to do in Morrocan spices at some point this week, will pop into Lakeland and try it in a bag.

I've also got a shoulder of Pork that I wanted to make authentic pulled pork with, again this will do the job perfectly.

Chop

They sell the bags in Sainsbugs and Morrisons as well, about a quid for 10.

I love my sunday roast and like some of you I do the whole thing just so the wife can have a rest from the usual cooking duties.
Today was lamb shanks with broccoli, cabbage, carrots cauliflower, peas, swede, sprouts and of course roasties and yorkies all covered with a gravy made using the water the veggies cooked in and the stock from what the shanks cooked in.
No doubt it will be making a well deserved appearance again in a few hours to come but all the same was luuuurvly

Can't beat it, we don't have one every week but it's always nice when we do. As my lad gets older it's one routine I want to get back into, sitting down at the table for a meal every night and especially Sundays. Good chance to instill some manners and good behaviour.

Anyway, nice roast pork shoulder joint tonight, crisp roast potatoes, honey roast parsnips, mashed swede, cabbage, apple sauce and gravy. Yum. Some Tiramisu left over from last night for afters. Was going to move onto some cheese and a large glass of port but was too full after that lot.

Yep we still enjoy them
Any meat I'm not fussy I love them all , Another + for the bag, especially if it's Leg of Lamb.

Roasties
Honey Roasted Parsnips
Carrots
Sprouts
Creamed spinach and leeks

Ocassionally we'll have butter carrots, not your normal carrots, grate the carrots from raw whack them in a pan with a big **** of butter, cook it up then into the blender, blast it and you have an awesome tasting carrot thick puree, add a bit of salt and pepper, might sound grim but it's bloody lovely...

Lashings of gravy and Horesradish, Mint Jelly

My plate is a bombsite !!

Whenever I'm at home with the parents we always try to have a Sunday Lunch. Although now I live 150miles away and no family up here it's not such a common thing. Although we do occasionally have one with a few mates round.

We never have a "traditional" Sunday dinner, well not since the big weight loss... There's about 3 day's worth of calories in them!

Plus, it's quite difficult to cook one on a camping stove at the motocross...!

Dont do them every Sunday but maybe once a month in the winter. Dangerous as mrs doesnt eat meat so I end up scoffing the lot especially pork crackling = normally all gone by the time everything is served. Recently went out with friends and damn is it hard to find a decent roast that tastes good.

My fave is rib of beef medium rare, horseradish sauce, yorkies and roast parsnips glazed in maple syrup. Wish I could make a decent gravy though.

Forget to mention fave side for all roasts courtesy of my mum - leeks in cheese a bit like cauliflower cheese. White sauce with chedder, fried leeks seasoned + butter. Roast with cheese & breadcrumbs. Could eat the whole dish of that on its own.
