This reminds me a couple of weeks back, was having a shower and afterwards i put my vest back on.Kept on getting like a tickle itching on my back,i thought what the hell is it as i kept trying to stretch my arm over to reach where it was itching. This went on for about 10 mins, shrugging my shoulders etc trying to get rid of this itch,so i decided to take my vest back off,and as i did the Biggest spider fell down to the floor I thought you motherfcuker aghhhh that's what was causing my itching, basterd spider must of crawled into my vest when i was in the shower the ****** ran off too.

Good picture
The thing that un-nerves me about them is... where are their damn eyes? Don't they have eight eyes or something? But you can never see them, so it doesn't look like a "face". Same with whales, i can never quite get my head around what their faces look like, their eyes look like they're in the wrong place.

Spiders are nearly always a benefit , at least in this country
Just shows the level of missaprehension / ghayness in this thread imo

I used to be terrified of them I will admit.
But one day I took my son to the zoo and they had one of them hands on type demonstrations going where you could hold a snake, spider etc.
May lad loves snakes, in fact my nickname for him is snakes!
Anyway, they snake came round and everyone was happy to touch it.
Then it was the turn of the spider. A bird eater of I remember correctly. It was massive I can tell you that. Now I had no intention of touching this spider as at that time I was petrified of them.
But when it was being passed around there were kids of 5 to 6 years old allowing this spider to crawl over the back of their hands.
I felt like a big wimp, and what with my son being there I didn't want to show him I was scared of them as he likes them and does not mind them at all and I didnt want my phobia rubbing off onto him.
So I put my hand out when it came round.
All I can tell you is that it felt very lightweight, even though it was a big spider, bigger than most Tarantula's that I had seen. Also it was kind of tickling me as it walked over my hand. It was an experience never to be forgotten.
Ever since that day I have not be so worried about them, even picking up and putting out the big house spiders we are getting at this time of year.
But with all the above said, I still dont like it when they seem to all of a sudden appear from no where and run across the lounge floor at warp speed.
Amazing creatures though, I saw a documentary once which had a mention of a spider that made a web which span the the width of a river! How **** did it manage to do that.
They have a place in our eco system and without them we would have bigger issues with insects over running the place.
