I think in IOS4 it only worked on the iPhone 4, not the 3GS.

I have an iP4 at the moment and I'm finding it hard to justify popping into town tomorrow to get an iPhone 4S having just downloaded iOS5.

It is the same phone in design and with iOS 5 on a iP4 it has the same operating system now. Better camera and faster processor but that's all really. Is it worth signing upto a 2yr deal only for Apple to bring out the iPhone 5 in 10-12mths time or so? Hmm..

To date...

iPhone..June 29 2007 (US) Nov 2007 (UK)
iPhone3..July 11 2008
iPhone3GS... 19 June 2009
iPhone4...24 June 2010
iPhone4S..14 Oct 2011

iPhone5 would be due around June/July 12 based on the above.

I think I might just keep the iP4 now and not bother with the 4S.

Just doing my 3GS. iPad worked fine.

3GS has an odd problem - in restoring the back up the photos are twice the size they were before. 16.5gb where they were 9gb before. The phone is now more than full!

'Find My Friends' requests still have to be accepted though, so it is rather useless unless somebody allows being tracked. This app I'm guessing is similar to Google's Latitude which has been around for an age in comparison.

Apple really have been slow to compete, as my iPhone contains mostly Google apps, and I've also been using their cloud for a long time too. I suppose having a back-up of a back-up won't cause any harm but it has got to the point now that you really have to decide where your allegiance lies or hold multiple accounts of the same stuff.

Anybody else noticed a massive improvement on battery life on iphone 4?

I normally have to charge my phone every night, however I left wifi and gps on all day which I don't normally and still have 60% battery remaining whereas previously I'd have been down to about 20% and that was with Wifi and GPS turned off.
