I would recommend getting a casemate, silinone inner with hardened outer case, I had one on my desire HD and now have one on my Galaxy S2, wouldn't have anything different. Cost about £25 at carphone warehouse, I dropped my desire HD in a car park, it skidded accross the carpark and survived without a scratch or mark on it

in the next 12 months your gonna see a shift, with Windows 7.5 Mango the business side will shift to more WM and Apple, Blackberry will be strong beacuse old school wont let go, but these recent hiccups have damaged them.
RIM are good in enterprise where the company doesnt run Microsoft tech but the cost of the BES service is expensive and WM and active sync is pushing it out,
For the consumer Android and Blackberry cos you get free messanger and cos its cheap rich boys will have WM and Iphone.
But im coming from a business point where i see the main shift not many android where i work, maily BB apple n WM

I've had a very thin leather case for my E71 and it has remained as new for 2 years. It might not be as strong as a hard case but it still does a reasonable job of dampening drops should there be any.

[QUOTE=SRSport;10293833]I wouldn't want to keep it in one of those, its a bit like buying a Ferrari and sticking loads of plastic bumper strips allover it to save it from knocks and car park dings.

a lleather case is fine until you take the phone out to use it i guess it comes back to iphone users thinking the phone is a fashion statement.
Its a phone not a ferrari

My apologies, I thought that people would be able to understand the example. I'll try and explain it for you.
A Ferrari is something that looks good and is designed well, like an iphone.
Trying to preserve the appearance of the Ferrari by putting something on it that looks ugly in the first place defeats its own objective.
For me this is like putting an iphone in a rubbery, plastic case that it stays in.
Why is that? I don't see it as a fashion accessory in the sense that the only reason I have it is to impress people and to be fashionable, there are enough of them around now as to not impress anyone I would have thought.
As I have already mentioned I appreciate things that are designed and built well, using good materials, who wouldn't? I don't think that means that iphone users think that the phone is a fashion statement. I went in open minded and to be honest all other phones looked rubbish in comparison. Thats just my opinion and what helped me to choose but of course this is subjective. Best not to assume to know why people buy them I would think.

I got a 4s on fri morning as an upgrade for a 3gs. I got it cos it's a good upgrade from my old one and spec is good. It's super quick and super easy to use and finally the camera is up to scratch. I'm not a sheep and couldn't care less about the fashion accessory end of it. I'm not going to comment on android os as I've never had one. Few of my mates think they are great so good for them. Based on this I would say that they are prob fairly equal. Let's face up to this guys. One isn't significantly better than the other - both are at the top end of the market. Each to their own. A pointless thread imho as people won't change their mind anyway

Exactly the same as me that. I wanted to like the Galaxy S2, I had heard great things about it and it would have cost me far less than the iPhone 4, but the phone was just too bloody big! I think the iPhone 4 is as large as i'd like to go at the moment and it does exactly what I want a phone to do.
