I have seen him where remarkably he was too drunk to perform!

Usually just drunk/stoned enough!

All this celebrity name dropping must be exhaustive! I'm surprised you have enough spare time to actually post on here

Not at the time but watching "Control", the Joy Division/Ian Curtis film, that got me, being in my later years a fan of Joy Division it struck a chord, 23 year old guy who kills himself on the cusp of fame and fortune, what would have happened, would they have been as big as they were.

I was a big New Order fan as a kid but couldnt get on with Joy Division, I think its a bit raw but I get it now, I was walking the Dog whilst waiting for the kids to come out of school and had a walk past his old house, its tiny, he went to the same school as our kids but funnily enough they dont mention him in the literature.

Seconded. I'm a big Joy Division fan and saw them a couple of times and can still remember being shocked at the news of Ian's death.

Yeah, seen it before but watched it again last night and this time made sure it got the 'keep' treatment on Sky Plus. Was a double treat with the recording starting early and catching John at the end of Singer Songwriter programme before it

Danny Thomson cracks me up

my dog that i have had for 15 years that was put down yesterday it has been the worst few days that i have ever experienced , i havent slept , not really eaten and feel like i want to burst into tears all the time. i feel emotionally drained and work has been a chore this week knowing what was going to happen.

i have him at home now and will be burying him later today in the garden in his favorite spot.

Condolences mate. Remember losing my pet staffie (20 years). It was the most painful loss of my life.

Take some time to grieve and move on happy in the knowledge that you both enriched each other's lives; they wouldn't want you to be sad.

Feel better soon.

As for the OPs question. I wouldn't say I get sad at the death of celebrities; I don't know them! However, I felt that mankind lost a great embassador when Steve Irwin died!

Tam The Bam on here, I was shocked to find him and Bug Eyed Peas are gone.

Tam cracked me up, in a post with DCI, Pslewis and the others, always chaos...life is strange like that.

Echoed. Was gutted when i heard this, i stayed within 2 mile of the accident & again was the reason why i owned a subaru. True legend.

Grant was a fantastic bloke and it was such a shock when he went. He kept his illness from everyone. I miss him loads. Never met him, but did speak on the phone frequently. He was mad as a box of frogs ( I doubt he will haunt me for that comment)
I did meet Bug Eyed Peas at Elvington, he was the nicest bloke you could ever meet.
They are both in my MSN and both shall remain there
RIP, special fellas

Ant - Bug Eyed Peas - used to have his kids in the same nursery as ours. Used to see him quite regularly.

Shocked he went so quickly.

cheers guys

was a tough weekend especially saturday putting the little dude in the gound , my dad was especially sad as he used to take him everywhere. the thing is his health deteriorated over the past 6 months and the winter would of killed him if we had left it any longer, at least we have some closure now knowing he isnt suffering anymore and we done the right thing , didnt ease the heartache of loosing such a close companion though. he will be missed greatly

Any poor children like Peter Connelly, VictoriaClimbié, James Bulger, etc, for their innocence meant they knew no better and despite all the suffering they endured, they still only wanted to be loved and cared for, even from those that were harming them.
