They couldn't get close enough to make attempting a drop goal worthwhile, the French weren't challenging much at the ruck and were just in a line stopping the ball from advancing.

This also meant that there was very little chance of the French giving away a penalty as well.

Still got further than you? if you are referring to the English, England were in the finals last time and won the thing the time before that.

When was the last time Wales won the Rugby world cup.

If the Welsh got rid of the chip off their shoulders and put as much effort into winning at rugby as they do trying to run down the English they would win the tournement every time.

Is it just me who supports England but actually just enjoys a good rugby match whoever it is?

I've admired Wales over the years. And Ireland and Scotland.

When do people forget about good sport and start being completely daft!!

If a home side is still in the competition then personally i would support them, who ever it be.... Ireland,Scotland or England.

The monetary value that the home sides have incurred from this tournement is incredible, and will pave the way for new talent and will make this little island a better place for all...

All banter aside, i think there may have been a concpiracy here. I used to think that the RFU and the game of rugby was far removed from their foolball (soccer) counterparts and had a sense of integrity and fair play.

Unfortunatly i seriously believe that the RFU wanted the weaker team to win (France) in order that they would face either Australia or New Zealand and get rolled over.

I think that it's New Zealand that are the rugby establishments favourite to win the rugby world cup and i will be very surprised if that doesn't happen.

I don't think the IRB did themselves any favours by choosing a referee with French parentage, regardless of whether the sending off decision was correct or not the match will always be overshadowed by the referee choice.

I have read the amended IRB rule on 'spear' tackles this morning and I believe a yellow card and 10 minute sin bin stay would have been within the IRB guidelines as it was not a malicious tackle.

To be fair the All Blacks are favourites every World Cup and have not won it since 1987 - so not exactly very a effective conspiracy.

??? We did score. As for the sheep thing, that's not allowed in the games, something about keeping the grass a regulation length. Sheeps is only allowed in training.

That is what i am getting at, a team that has consistantly played well since 1987 and have never won since, and are everyones favourites.

May well be able to put one over Australia, so might be able to go 3rd in the world.

We`re already ranked as 4th, so would be good to go third.

IRB World Rankings.

1 NEW ZEALAND
2 AUSTRALIA
3 SOUTH AFRICA
4 WALES
5 FRANCE
6 ENGLAND
