I miss the dedicated Hero search button the rest seams good!

The rom flash did not remove all the Samsung bloat though, need to look into it a little more.

Jamescsti, just got this months bill, used just over 9gb this month I do stream music though at work, and have live traffic info travelling to work (long commute), then there are emails, checking the internet etc etc soon adds up
9gb is crazy usage! Must be streaming constantly all day or something.
Never known anyone use anything like that

Thing is these smartphones are getting huge, especially the width. I've got the S1 and its wide enough for my hand, but when I held my brother's S2 that felt a little bulky.

The Droid Razr is gonna be even wider than the S2.

Thing about the Iphone 4s is that it looks and feels really polished. That's what is swaying me at the moment to get one. Although the battery life is apparantly abysmal and you can't upgrade it like you can on other makes.

Think its down to when the networks roll it out, the S2 is definately capable of running it though

Don't touch Motorola smart phones i have a Milestone bought 18 months ago as Flash ready and they still haven't released the upgrade to make this true, the OS was full of Bugs they finally released a bug ridden version of Android 2.1 to fix this just after everyone else was on 2.3

As to data usage some of my work colleagues are on 3 Network (work in London) for the all you can eat data as they stream music at work all day, i dont download music or video and yet some months go over my 0.5gig allowance on Orange so thinking of moving to 3 but worried about the coverage when outside London.

Have to say the Nexus prime dropped the ball a little

No 8mp camera

Will see what's on the horizon in the next quarter, or it may well be the GSII

Another curve ball ive just seen is the HTC TItan, windows mobo OS, so im not to sure...

Nice screen though, but looks like a 5mp camera

hmm decisions decisions

Nothing wrong with a 5mp camera, apart from monkeys always wanting big numbers. Aperture size is where it's at and the iPhone 4s wins that race by a long shot.

.
Motorola are now owned by Google so things will likely improve

Jack, flash works fine on my HTC and seems to work fine on the s2 as well.

zayd the s2 is wide but not what I would call bulky (its one if the slimmest) its a lot less bulky than a tablet and it can do the same stuff

Which button ?

It only has one (apart from vol + power) and it does not work as a search for me.

I say button, its the hidden one on the left of the middle button (the one you use to access settings etc.) Hold it down for a few seconds and it brings up the search.

Must say I am impressed with the s2, it is so fast and responsive and the display is very good as well

My new Galaxy S2 arrived on Saturday - been playing with it over the weekend and what a machine. Screen is amazing and it's very fast. Rooted and flashed with VillianRom. Using my old 3GS feels very ponderous now and the screen is lifeless and dull (in comparison - thought it was great prior to the S2).

Very tempted by the S2 myself. How are you finding the battery life compared to the 3gs?

Not on a contract - bought it from Amazon Market for £390. However, already have a SIM only deal that I'm half way through with is giving me 600 mins, unlimited text and 500mb data (plus unlimited wifi). Costs £21 per month over the 12 months, but by putting it through my company (one man consultant putting it through a ltd company) and also getting £150 cash back means that it only costs me in real terms £4.30 per month :-)

Putting the the S2 through the business and then selling the 3GS (seem to go for around £160. My one is spotless, been in a case and screen protectors all its life) means it's cost me £152 to swap.

Too early to tell really as I'm using it all the time making sure it's set up nicely - but seems to be on a par/better. So many apps you can get to help with battery life (Juciedefender - https://market.android.com/details?i...defender&hl=en) and also the ROM you have makes a difference (I've gone with VillianRom - http://www.villainrom.co.uk- after lots os reading). So much customisation (which I enjoy) and the different keyboard entry methods are great - I'm currently trying out TouchPal - http://www.cootek.com/.

Very pleased with the change so far :-)

Flash runs fine on my Galaxy S2 and ran fine on my Desire HD as well, the only phones that "have a problem" with flash are i-phones

Playing with defenders and villains can be fun, but has never been safe or even safe'ish.
