Its a very good game. Sound effects are realistic. Adds a lot to the game.
Only had a couple of hours on multi player so far but once you get to know the maps you can stay alive for ages, unlike cod etc where there is always someone shooting at you.

The choppers and jets are a LOT easier on the PC version if you have a wired 360 pad plugged in.

You can also use it for infantry, but it has no aim assist (which i dont mind to be honest)

Spent the last couple of hours using the controller only, and its OK.

Been playing it on 360 (I have it for the PC too) its difficult to join an online game sometimes & it's quite laggy. I expect EA's servers are at breaking point!

Great game though!

I think there aint no manual!! All the gen youneed is on the game itself. Its very much the same as CoD controls.

Its certainly evolved since BF1942, but I kinda miss that game. BF Nam was awesome too. BF3 feels a lot like BF BC2 but with extra polish on the gfx. I do like the way the guns have more weight & how the vehicles handle. I will probably keep playing BC2 as it is top notch & I enjoy the maps.

am i the only one who doesnt like it albeit on the nosexbox.

sound is awesome, graphics are good but they make me feels sick after a few games.

some ppl say you can stay alive longer than cod, not me lol, the maps are frantic and it`s very hard to see ppl at a distance, tbh i should like it but i just don`t, looks like i`m a cod fanboy, never mind.

Its not like cod you have to use cover. If you fire from cover you will live a lot longer. Always reload in cover and only move between cover. But its a lot more team work dependant if you don't work as a team you are stuffed.

COD is full of the 1337 kids, running and gunning, quick-scoping and game breaking kill-streak rewards.

Rust with harrier strike & attack choppers anybody?

Na thanks....

I was MW through & through (30 days online time) and just played TDM. Would get really narked if my team didnt win or if I got less than 30 kills a round etc. BF3 Im doing really well if I get 2:1 kill/death but its much more enjoyable even when losing. MW2 its almost too easy to kill someone. BF3 you have to adjust your aim based on range and single shots or small bursts are far more effective. When sniping you have to adjust for bullet drop. I need to see if there is somewhere you can check longest shot as I dropped some guy way away yesterday aiming a meter plus above his head.

As for the comms I dont think Ive heard anyone using comms on PS3 apart from some chap in my squad who seemed to be chatting to a mate and watching TV in the background. Well annoying as you cant seem to mute someone in your squad unless you disable mic for squad talk which I assume mutes all squad members not just the offender.

Overall Im really liking it as the realism is just on another level compared to CoD games imho. One map I was playing rush on a Damn and as we progressed through the enemy mcom stations you get to the dam and can freefall for ages. The depth of that map is very impressive.

I just need to die less and move around a bit more stealthily.

Give it a few months and the mic issue will be sorted as people will start to realise its much better to use a mic, and the hardcore players will still be around. On MW2 I generally play with the same people and its like an arcade game compared to BF3. My only major issue with BF3 is that if you get shot your health recovers...

I guess you get wounded and then if you hide up you have a chance to recover a bit, patch yourself up. As iirc if you keep running around your health doesnt recover or at least not very fast but if you lay low it goes up quite quick. Maybe it shouldnt go all the way back to 100% but Im not complaining as otherwise Id die a lot more often haha.

Btw I unlocked the smoke for tanks. If I update my vehicle kit list to use this is it automatic? Sure I already did and when looking through the tank HUD I see a message saying smoke ready but I cant find a way to set it off?

I assume its the same for the jets ie you unlock the IR flares and they automatically deploy?

I know health recovered on BF2 (very slowly unless someone is a medic nearby), aren't MW games the same? I thought it was last time i played it but that was a long time ago.
Sorry i havent played BF3 yet to see the differences are yet from the previous game.

BF and COD and almost every FPS has health recovery systems (maybe Americas Army or Operation Flashpoint don't?).
I'm noticing that in BF3 more than any game I've played, good teamwork reaps dividends. The other teams I've played against, almost everytime the other side has had better teamwork and ripped us a new A-hole and handed it to us on a plate with a victory flag shoved in the crack....

Ive had a bit of a mix tbh. A lot of people seem content going prone on top of the highest mountain with a sniper rifle and doing sod all. Then there are people just randomly driving around in a tank nowhere near the action.

Im trying to fly but so far I havent killed anyone with a jet lol and looks like thats what you need to gain the experience to get the upgrades. Did have a blast earlier and did ok until I missed an aerial post and clipped it = instant fireball. Should have been a snapped wing and let me eject but ho hum. Faired a bit better in the choppers as they dont move so fast but that = sitting duck most of the time.

No you have to deploy it. Go into key options for land, air and you can set countermeasures key. Mines set at the same as my walking throw grenade key.
