Just had my best ever jet round. Started in the A10. Took out every enemy pilot and a few empty planes in between. 2 tanks and then landed on the enemy runway and ran in to help take out the final mcom.

Just out of curiosity I had a look at the global leaderboards for PS3 only via Battlelog. Goes to show that it means absolutely nothing and you should just compare yourself with friends.
Longest Killstreak: 879
Longest Headshot: 1926m
Most Headshots: 4,576
Most Melee Kills: 2,473
What a load of cheating / stat padding / boosting w@nkers.

I think it was Caspian Borders but you only get the A10 if your on the US side and the Frogfoot (or whatever its called) as RU. It doesnt make any difference as not like you have a more powerful cannon on the front. I did notice it seems to emit some different noises when in the cockpit like youd expect from an older plane
Talking of noises I was playing one map either Bazaar or Seine and kept hearing a cat meowing. Thought it was outside my house so was looking out the window etc then realised it was in the game lol.

I had a go on caspian boarder, wasn't any on that map I'm so crap at the jets. Can't get enough seat time in one before being shot out ofthe sky with heat seekers in order to score some points to get the IR flares. It's enough to drive you to stat padding.

Hmm and you were playing CQ or Rush? Maybe I got my maps mixed up but Caspian is the one with one base on top of a hill??
Yeah the problem is if you havent unlocked yet most others have and you really need the IR flares to have any chance of staying alive. Tbh its still very hard to kill even with the heat seekers unless you lock, launch just 1 missile, lock again then fire your 2nd. Its hard to keep enemy jet in lock long enough though.
Ive just unlocked the rocket pods so will try sneaking up behind someone and use those as should be now warning

Conquest I think. I'm not a fan of Rush.
There are some very good pilots on there, kind of ironic seeing as I have a real pilots license, although there aren't any cannons on my plane!

Must admit I am liking the SV98 more and more now I have the double action bolt. Its hard work without it. Shame that you cant use the bolt with the bipod but maybe that would be too powerful. I was playing CQ on Tehran Highway and the enemy were attacking the truck stop on foot. The squad kept spawning on each other and I just kept shooting them, mostly with headshots lol.

With the A10 and SU25 i always try to keep nice and low as the SA missiles don't get much time for a lock on.

Haha that first one is good. Like the EOD bot freefall and loving the Javelin with Soflam. Gonna have to try that with a mate to **** off the enemy pilots.

I've heard it's easier to control the chopper and plane with a console controller than using mouse and keyboard? At least I was taking comfort in that fact cause I'm utter poop at it with the mouse and keyboard lol

Its much easier to use the controller on the PC, the problem i have now, is that a lot of people on the PC flying servers are VERY good now, and while i can fly about pretty well, i get out manoeuvred all the time and taken down.
The heat seeking rockets help.
FWIW i fixed my disconnect problems by disabling UPNP on my router, which is annoying as i have to reenable it to use the xbox, otherwise i get a "strict nat"
It seams a pretty common problem according to the battlog forums, apparently it also affected Bad Company 2 on the pc, but i have never had a problem with that game
The fact that it apparently affects the older pc game as well, leads me to think that it will probably never get patched either

Welcome!
Couldnt find micko43 on Battlelog but found micko42 and thats linked to PSN micko42 so I guess thats you. Have requested to add you a friend.
Had some awesome games over the weekend. Was playing on a team with a German chap on VOIP who was cursing stupid base snipers as we played CQ on Tehran Highway. I joined his squad and turned my mic on and we just drove around in a tank owning the other team. So much easier to play when your on comms.

Op Metro - 64 player Conquest - spawning as a medic. Basically I'm heading up to the 2 choke points at the stairs down to the platform, dishing out health packs & reviving team mates. this seems to clock up uber points. Las night I was scoring 6k + per round & then adding on ribbons it was nearly 10k a round. I also came 1st 3 times without even killing one enemy player.
When you play as a team this game is ace, when people lone wolf its shat.

People moan that the console version is 24 player max but that seems perfect to me. Operation Metro on Conquest must be insane with 64 players - assuming you still only have 3 flags?
Defending flag b as RU is too easy. Especially as I always start recon and leave a spawn beacon nearby in case we lose B. Most of my team rush forward to the 2nd elevators and stairs section so I end up defeding the 1st escalator for any enemy trying to sneak in.
I only usually only play as Assault on TDM as you need to be able to heal yourself as games very short. I need to start using Support a bit more as rely on Engineer a lot as they can fight troops and take out vehicles. Im heading towards 4th Service Star for engineer and havent even got 1 for recon & support

Well I know my PC is rubbish, but ever since yesterday when Origin said BF3 wasn't installed?! and reinstalled it, I barely get 2 mins into a game and it crashes.

You have downloaded the patch have you?
#90
Yes have the same issue now.
I did have the black screen issue - but one in every 2 games would start OK.
After the patch it crashes a couple of minutes into the game.
Agree on the server sizing., 64 players works OK on large maps, but does not on the smaller maps. Well not for me. It's just too frantic and I'm not sure it allows for tactics (other than shoot-die-shoot-die) or decent squad play with various classes being required in order to achieve objectives.
