I actually had mine done 4 years ago (I was 40) when my ex of 10 years left. Not bad at all, just a bit of discomfort more than actual pain Unlike mentioned above, regarding sex drive...mine did drop off a bit but that might also be down to my senior years

I had it done a couple of months back. As others have said, dull ache rather than pain. I was having a laugh with the surgeon during, and when he called me a wuss for wincing as he roughly searched for my tubes I responded that if he didn't have one ******** in one hand and a scalpel in the other I'd have drawn my knee across his forehead by now. A couple of paracetamol was all I needed for a day or two, back to work withing 48 hours, and now awaiting the results from my samples. It'll be great not to have the worry of unwanted pregnancies, if only the missuse would consider us doing what's needed in the first place, BITCH !

So, did you get it done?
I thought I would resurrect this thread I had the "snip" on Thursday No pain (even during the injection, which I thought would be the worst). Only the embarrassment of getting the togger out in front of the two elderly assisting nurses. I felt like saying "it's normally bigger than this, honest. It's the cold weather".
Slight bruising but nothing major. Just taking it easy for a few days. I have two daughters and getting on a bit so more children are not a consideration. Looking forward to it putting a bit of spontaneity back into things without the worry
Cheers

Had it done and was back ******** that same night, but only really as a kind of function check.
Trouble was though the stitches fell out of the left bullock and left a bit of a hole. So I went back to the doctor and he gave me antibiotics and all was well within a week.
But I would advise anyone not to bother. If nowt wrong leave well alone.

I would NEVER get this done as a complication can be chronic epididymitis which I am suffering from ATM as the result of a random infection not caused by a vasectomy though. It's hell at times.

They never mentioned it at the time of the snip. The like tadpoles still grow, multiply, you get swelling and pain because the little ******* are trying to escape before they die and your body breakes them down.
Getting rid by any method helps a lot .

I'm with les on this, if you don't need surgery avoid at all costs.
As for guys under 50 having it done i think it's a bad idea as you never know what life will bring and you may well end up divorced then pull a younger woman that wants kids and even possibly for those that don't want them now want them in the future.
Knowing women the way i do, then if she don't want more kids then she can go and get sterilised, sorry but i just think it's not a good idea to mess with your man sack, it does so much more than produce sperm.
A small amount of background info on my beliefs on the subject.
A friend of mines farther is a surgeon and he said don't do it when i was considering it at the ripe old age of 29 after a couple of bad relationships i was addament that i wanted no more kids.
3 yrs later i was married to a cracking woman but still BOTH of us did not want kids then we hit 40 and decided that we did, i now have a 4yr old son and i'm so glad i changed my mind.
Life is a funny thing and you never know how things will go.
