Where did they put your gps arial tony I took dons advice and stuck it behind the dials

Quite easy too just pull the surround and 2 screws and your in, I'd push to get it fixed, my issue with the oem was pretty minor but still an issue, and all that brass we spent everything wants to be right, cars been bulletproof though apart from that niggle, can't wait to buy the new varient when it comes out in a year or 2

Not sure done by dealer.

I'd buy the F30bt but seen a system that connects to the iPhone and uses its apps. Maybe the way forward

Saw the new app pioneer it looks very cool

But it's only 350 quid and has no sat nav.

Go for the 930 or 30 I find the 930 very very cool, sounds much better and the nav works perfect, I fitted the aerial behind the speedo.

Im about to test the auto eq on it which requires a special mic that you temp fit to the seat to test acoustics in the car.

I'm lucky enough to have this as I have a high end pioneer cinema amp and that uses the same tech called mcacc so I,ll keep you posted

Ok so I tried the mic and it worked

Stop all music go into menu and choose eq it detects mic and counts down it then takes 10 mins and samples the cabin sound and zaps sounds to the speakers , if any of you have seen the pioneer amps for the tv do this it's same , very thorough and weird how it does it, but after its awesome feels as though the sounds all around you, I think it boosts the rear eq etc, for all theses with the 930bt buy the mic it's 20 quid but worth it in my eyes to have near perfect acoustics in a noisy car

Where do you buy the mic and where does it connect, you haven't got to take the headunit out again have you?

No Norm you dont

CD-MC20

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PIONEER-CD...item4ab143a07d

Plug it direct into the headphone socket you have in your armrest once in.

Stop all music playing by clicking the off symbol on the screen and choose it from the menus, it lights up if it sees the Mic, then either sit back and have your ears bleed or c;lose the car door and wait 10 mins

I've sent Pioneer an email but they are usually pretty rubbish. No current plans to visit my cousins in Keighley or I would call in but it is a bit of a round trip!

and the reply was

Hello.

Thank you for your email enquiry.

The Auto EQ microphone is part number CZX-5497A however this is generally
only supplied to the dealerships to perform the set up as the end user
would only use it the once.

Please contact your supplier dealership for support on this.

Bought one from Road Radio 12.99 + 7.99!!!! postage

Also just picked up my car with the 340 and upgraded panel filter fitted and they offered me the standard panel and exhaust back are these worth anything to anyone? Presumably the exhaust would fetch a few quid at the scrap metal dealers?

Has to be worth it just haven't played with it yet. Stuck in the 5pm traffic but the noise is a vast improvement as is the appearance.

I don't think I will be 'playing' anytime soon. My wife is away up country and I am childminding for a few days so running around doing school duties etc with no fun in between. Worse time of year! Also breaking in my winter tyres so you will probably get a quicker review off Tony but I will keep you posted on experience. Fuel economy on the way home was hugely different and no run in required. The biggest thing I have noticed so far, apart from the burble, is the extra 'pull' at the lower revs. Haven't received any kind of certificate like we did with the 320 upgrade need to check tomorrow. Surely I am not the first to go for this there must be others?

On another note they have damaged my stereo surround again - they keep catching and tearing the rubber coating not sure if they wwill be happy to replace this again!

I like the sound of the power comming in lower in the rev range... I find the 320R has plenty of power above 3K .... If this package helps with power between 2K and 4Kb I think I will buy it!

The "quoted" 340R figures are very similar to what mine is putting out..........

Is yours standard 320 with no mods? If so looks like there is little point in upgrading then....

"Supposedly" the standard 320 remap but running H&S cat back exhaust, whereas the 340 package retains the standard centre (rear) pipe with resonator and uses a 2nd cat replacement pipe (similar to PPP) along with the new back boxes.

I'm wondering If I was just "lucky" going to Subaru HQ to get the upgrade done in person

The only way you will tell is by putting it on some rollers

Seems a lot of fuss over nothing to me
From 320 to 340 for a grand, is it really that noticeable ?
Now if it was a 380 or 400 upgrade I would be up for it.

I know 300 to 320 was very diff,

But for th saloon owners it's a good thing I'd say, as I'm hoping the exhaust will actually finish at the end of the car unlike the oem with is set back

Norman take a pick for us

Wonder what insurance company will be like with yet another tweak
