I don't think I will be 'playing' anytime soon. My wife is away up country and I am childminding for a few days so running around doing school duties etc with no fun in between. Worse time of year! Also breaking in my winter tyres so you will probably get a quicker review off Tony but I will keep you posted on experience. Fuel economy on the way home was hugely different and no run in required. The biggest thing I have noticed so far, apart from the burble, is the extra 'pull' at the lower revs. Haven't received any kind of certificate like we did with the 320 upgrade need to check tomorrow. Surely I am not the first to go for this there must be others?
On another note they have damaged my stereo surround again - they keep catching and tearing the rubber coating not sure if they wwill be happy to replace this again!

Or did you have other, work done also ?

Stereo hadn't been fitted correctly so took out to push the leads in and damaged the fascia trying to push it back on so this was a replacement. Will try and take a photo this weekend but mine is a 5 door and looking like it has been through a rally at the moment!

Insurance was brilliant actually £410 with Aviva, if it had been ridiculous I wouldn't have done it. For £900, the car sounds and looks much better and I get a few BHP under warranty. I was going down the Tony Milltek route which was more money for less gains so glad I waited.

Had a very good insurance quote for this quite keen now. Most say allow three days Crossroads say they can do it in a day presumably as so close to Subaru. Will there be a noticeable improvement or downturn in mpg and please don't tell me I shouldn't have bought a Subaru if I'm worried about mpg I have owned Imprezas for the last 10 years just interested to know particularly as the prodrive use to slightly improve.
But can anyone tell me what increase they saw in their ins premium when declaring the 320/340r upgrades and did they have it in their systems like PPP used to be?

Had a 2005 WRX which I paid £320 for upgrade to a 320r with 4 months remaining was £35 and to 340r with 2 months remaining £25 both these include an admin cost. Was told the annual renewal would be £410.
Urban - What do you want me to say about my upgrade? I'm not a 'technically' minded person and my wife is away at the moment so I am rushing between work, school and home. Compared to PPP it seems good value and keeps the warranty intact. The visual look is so much better than the plain tails, the sound is gruntier, fuel seems a little better and there is more torque at the lower range. If you want more than that you need to wait for a 'technical' person to have their upgrade sorry I just drive it and put petrol in and drop a few zero's when telling my wife the costs.

My insurance on the 320r is around £400 with Esure. They only charged an extra £40 for declaring the mod from standard 300 to the 320. Not sure how much the extra would be for the 340... Most insurers were quoting around £600 for the 320 when I renewed, with a standard 300 being £400 or there abouts....

When I was up at Coleshill (I know I keep harping on about it) both Steve and Darren said that they wanted the upgrade backboxes to be "similar" to the H&S ones I had fitted, so I doubt they would disappoint.

Don Norman stereo question
Can either of you mute your call from the steering wheel or stereo, I can't seem to find anything, I was on a conf call this morning and I had to use phone to mute and wait for my time to talk.
Also when I take a call I still can hear the music anyway to actually stop it totally or pause whilst your in the call, my mate could slightly hear steps playing so took the wee wee outa me lol

For example, my old PPP'd blob was remapped.
The difference was huge.
Prior to remap nothing really happened until near 4K, then it ran out of puff around 5.5
But after remap, it pulled strongly from approx 2.8K, and didn't run out of puff until 6.5K when it was time to grab another gear anyway.

Looks like they've gone back to the same design of tailpipes as on the old PPP box like I had on my '08 STi - Ok but you couldn't keep stones out of the gaps between the pipes and couldn't prise them out with a screwdriver ![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
None have stuck in the std 320 exhaust yet but they've too plain...
How's the noise - more than standard but not too loud I hope?

I think PPP was always 1600-1800 quid. The only discount I ever saw was when they were trying to sell off new Sti's and WRX's and offered it as a discounted upgrade package with a new car which you could probably do a deal on anyway if buying a new one.
