As much as you come across as a moaning, grumpy old sod, I actually like your ramblings.

This place wouldn't be the same without you, so I hope you're getting yourself sorted NOW!

Not to mention the fact that you have a family...don't be a stubborn bugger!

Lying wired up I thought I would never see the Subaru again

Get your self doctors tomorrow or A&E tonight

(no offence )

Seriously, you need to get checked out. It may well be nothing to worry about, but do not just ignore what has happened. As you well know, life is precious and we need to look after ourselves. If it's nothing to worry about, it's a bit wasted time going to the doctor/having tests, if it's something of greater concern, then acting sooner rather than later could save your life.

Take care and keep us posted.

Exclamation

With what you have described you should to go A&E immediately to get checked out. at the very least call the NHS helpline as a matter of urgency, given what you have described they will send for an ambulance or ask you to go to A&E!

There is a simple test you can have to detect if you have had a heart attack which is likely what you need to rule it out. you need to get seen by medical professionals as a matter of urgency, not wait for a GP appointment!!!

i suggest you get someone to take you as well, not drive yourself.

I have a heart problem which i will not go fully into, one of the symptoms being Acid Reflux which i am sure you have mentioned in the past along with what you have just described.

what you have described could be nothing serious but then again could be serious - it needs investigating!

Waiting for a GP's appointment is not the answer!

Take this seriously and get help right now.

Good luck!

Sod the docs, go to A&E. My Dad suffered from TIA's (mini strokes) for years. Probably due to a head injury he had in 1999. He wouldn't tell anyone at the time and just blamed it on migraines. Looking back it may well have been responsible for several car accidents that he had during those years.
He would complain of bad headaches and a metallic taste in his mouth that made him feel and quite often, be sick. He had a 'vacant look' when he had TIA's which we didn't understand at the time. The head injury made him very private and he used to get very angry when people tried to help (or interfere as he saw it).

He could never deal with being in places that were loud and busy such as shopping centres or parties as this would bring on the TIA's.

In 2005 he had a massive stroke. He is now in a nursing home as he can't speak or walk properly as well as being mentally disabled.

We just didn't realise how bad it was. If he had gone to the doctors and accepted help like we kept telling him to do, he might have ended up in a very different situation to the one that he is in now.

Instead, I was left to try and run a business that was on its knees as well ashaving to pay a £20k overdraft that he had accumulated as well as a £18K credit bill. He left no enduring power of attorney so my mum and I had to fight for guardianship to handle his affairs.

Think very carefully at the being 'the big man' and not accepting help.

Last time I had that, I had consumed a lot of...sweets.

But seriously, anyone experiences any one of those things you need to get yourself checked up fast. I suffered severe head injuries a while back, eventually resulting in having a mini stroke and experiencing exactly what was described here.

I have a slight speech impediment but I was lucky, could have been much worse and I would have been non the wiser.

This could also be a form of epilepsy. Problem with that is that your licence is at risk.

Hope he is ok.

There is a simple blood test that can determine if it was a TIA or not, my dad had one whilst we were in Northern Ireland on a family event, he blamed the seafood chowder! Only upon his return and after his more descriptive version of events he decided to go to the docs "just in case" He had the blood test and the same day he was called at work and advised to go straight to the hospital, not to drive and tell someone to bring an overnight bag.. a week later he had stents fitted.

GO TO DOCS M8, soon as they do a bloodtest they will know if you have had a stroke or any kind of heart issue, as the body leave deposits in the blood when its been in a state of shock.

You could go to A+E but it wll be a Long wait.

All i will say though AL is dont ignore this one dude even if the docs **** you up etc, it could be nothing like a bad chmical in ya drink, or it could be serious ****

OK, been to the docs, not much he could do at that point, obviously, so he took my blood pressure and wrote down what I said.
Blood pressure and last cholesterol test were spot on.
Also sent me up to the hospital to give a blood sample.

I'm now awaiting a call to go in for tests at the stroke clinic.

I could not understand why you did not want to go the the doctor. He is getting paid a lot of money to make sure your health is ok.

Always best to get it checked, if there was a reason for it, the sooner it is dealt with the easier it is to sort out permanently.

It wasn't that I didn't WANT to go, it was that I thought that three days AFTER the event, it might be wasting everyone's time.
