yes thats fine but surely if i ran a wire from the water sensor to the oil temp gauge just to see if the needle would move as my water sensor/gauge works fine

The sensors may not be interchangeable, remove the oil temp sensor from housing & submerge in boiling water to see if the gauge moves.

Ok will do but see if it does and i need to go the sump plug adaptor is that the same adaptor i bought for cylinder 3 or is it a different one cheers

I think it's a different one it looks bigger to me. You might get one off eBay try Advanced Automotive that's where mine came from.

e-bay do them, but it's NOT a good place to take oil temperature.

Ok try the sensor in water tomorrow and take from there my water sensor/gauge works so tried that sensor still not moving the gauge cheers

If the gauge doesn't move with the hot water, and you are certain it's wired OK, your gauge is suspect.

Yes it lights up and the needle moves to the 150 on ignition like the water and oil pressure does but when upto running temp only the water and oil pressure move to the normal temps cheers for all your help

update bought new oil temp gauge and everything works fine thanks for everyones help
