At least they don't try and make out it is superior to any other manufacturer by having a premium price, when most of these phones are made in China, including the Iphone.
For Apple to compete in the long term, they need to realise that a reduction in price will be necessary. Or they could just try and litigate their way to profit

Got to love the Daily Mail, non story, interesting to read and I think the OP was making the point, I am sure Bert and Elsie, aged 69 from Suburbia will use this as part of their justification to not buy the fangled, overpriced nonsense, that they werent going to buy anyway, they can use it so they can laugh at all the poor Saps that spent all that money ont he silly thing, its only a telephone after all, we have one and it was £12 from TK Hughes and it does all I need and has big buttons.
We will do the mocking of Apple Fanboys if its all the same with you Bert.
I think inoxerable rise onf the Android will be too much for Apple to bear, they started it, they maintained it but there are too many companies, the might of Google and the brand is waning a bit, it isnt the big deal to have one now, they will still be around, doing well for the forseeable future but the star wont be shining as bright.

You will also find that although expensive, iPhone users will keep their phone for a number of years as they don't need upgrading often.
I had my iPhone 3g for 3 years - paid around £500 for it through my contract which was £45 per month for 12 months. After that i chose not to upgrade and had a £20 a month sim only deal.
Doesn't work out that expensive if you look at it this way.
I'm now on an iPhone 4s which will cost me £384 through upping my contract to £36 a month (phone was free) and i'll likely keep it for another 3 years

Don't forget that if you have any questions about Apple operating systems or hardware you can walk in a store, Google don't offer support for the Android operating system, just a forum. Service isn't free.
Good example, I walked into the Apple store yesterday to learn a little more about Aperture, I walked out with a new Smart Cover for my iPad and a Charger for my 6 year old Macbook! And my questions were answered on the spot.
