You are kidding aren't you? She missed the whole 'don't take yourself seriously' fun element of the 80's.

Sinead O Connor Now....

Hmm, kind of more like Biffa Bacons "*****" now than the winsome, shaven headed little thing we knew. Ahh well, we all get older, fatter and gain some bad tats.

Get out!!
That's not Sinead, that's Lewis!

Why, she's certainly let herself go!

But there's no denying, that song was a corker.
(I'll agree with the point made about taking herself too seriously, to be sure)

Joyce Sims?
An 80's pop Princess?

You may as well have put in the Pointer Sisters (or brothers, judging by their voices)

Taylor Dayne's a good shout though.

How about Paula Abdul, used to lust after a girl called Lorraine from school and beyond and finally she got rid of her grumpy boyfriend and was finally mine, then got nicked by some **** that went in the pub I worked in before I got to bone the nearest I got to a slight resemblance to Paula Abdul !

Far too hairy for me.

Debbie Gibson, mmmmm

During the late '80 (may have actually been the early 90's) I made a thrash/metal mix tape for a mate at university - Slayer, Anthrax, Maiden etc, in the middle I put a bit od Wendy James (Transvision Vamp), I don't want your money honey!!! He was not impressed.

Being a bit too young to be looking or thinking of women in a sexual way back then, but for some reason Kim Wilde came to my mind.Probably quite a few women from the 80's i would of thought ohhhh yesss baby back then..

When I saw this thread I thought of this. Young and naive - I saw them playing at the Union. Barbara hung out with us punters during the support act - I thought she was the most impossibly glamorous thing (it was the '80s).

Looking back now - not so much. Awesome song though.

Yep, love that song, hadnt heard it until I bought a compilation called "The edge of the eighties", which is more that kind of stuff, Japan, Ultravox, Devo etc rather than the usuall Duran Duran and Wham.

Im a big eighties fan, listen to absolute 80's quite a bit, probably not great to wallow in Nostalgia but JLS can **** off, I go for quality, not what I think I should be listening to, could do with some new quality stuff though, it is out there, just rarely in the charts.

I think GTA Vice city did a lot for eighties music, some fantastic tunes that went perfectly with the in game action, sunsets and general vibe, they havent recreated that with the subsequent ones I think.

Bit of Japan, awesome.

Brilliant song.
I always thought Sinead O'Connor was stunningly beautiful. Looking at the pics above, she seems to have let herself go.
There was also some gorgeous Princes in the 80's. I won't post them as this is a Princess thread
