I think all Dunk is trying to do is help you from wasting any time and effort on something that already exists.
All I was trying to say is that if you want to get involved in a local group and attend such kind of events then get involved on AS as that is the biggest group of local owners.

If you are wanting to start a small group of friends on here then by all means do it as its good to talk to like minded enthusiasts however, most North East owners are on AS so no point really recreating something that is already there for you.

I personally frequent here, Aberdeen Scoobies, SIDC, Scottish Scoobies.net and 22B aswell as a couple of others- there are plenty of forums out there and links to locals you can talk to. Many of my friends I met through Aberdeen Scoobies, but they also visit the other sites.

I don't think anyone here or above is trying to put your idea "down" or anything like the way you seem to take it- just trying to help you get in touch with local guys who have already done the groundwork for you.

i know what ur attempting, and i totally agree, i think AS is too quiet regarding posts etc, so why not gather on SN where everything and more is readily available without the need to join 2 forums, great idea def count me in, worth a try, although AS members will prob rebel

I`m on AberdeenScoobys too, but I don`t visit there very often now as it`s so quiet that Tumble Weeds have taken up residence.

Yes there`s a Scottish Section here, but, if you notice, there`s also more sections for different areas Of England.. So, why not for different areas in Scotland... Scotland`s a big place too you know. We don`t all live in one wee village surrounded by sheep...
