The pills are there for a reason, and its refreshing to know I dont need them anymore, and to turn my back on them now the time is right.
exactly mate, they do help at the time

and the plus is youve had the drive to stop them mate.

hard times, but hopefully over the worst mate.

Did you find they helped then? I`m only asking cos all 3 of my sisters went on anti depressants after my Dad died in 1999 and, not wanting to sound callous, I couldn`t understand why Again in 2004 after my Mum died (after a really bad bout of cancer) they went on them again. Each time it was for about 6 months. I kept telling them to `get a grip`! Maybe people deal with situations differently.

Glad to hear it`s coming good for you now btw

Pretty much. I think sometimes people don't understand (or don't look at in the same way) problems with the mind/feelings etc as they do physical ones. Alot of people who experience physical pain, for instance, would think nothing of taking some pills to help them through, I don't know why it is such a leap to see how some may need that same bit of help when experiencing mental pain for want of a better phrase. Everyone has a different way of dealing with things and a different threshold so to speak. (I'm not having a go at you by he way)

Anyhow...Glad to hear you are on the up Snazy. Hopefully, as hard as these last few years have been, you can now start to move forward. All the best.

Yup like you say we all cope in different ways. For me the priority was taking care of mum. I didn't care what the price was, just needed to be able to function rationally, and stay strong for her. For a long time I was her only outlet, so I took quite an emotional pounding at times.
The easiest way I can explain the role of the pills was numbing. Things that stressed me disappeared with ease, I went on auto pilot, and was able to focus on what I needed to.
Best solution maybe not, easiest, probably so.

Clean for two weeks now and all seems as good as ever, if not better than normal. One thing I have noticed is weight gain, so in a few weeks time I will do something about that.

Other than that I feel great, and normal. Although I did order a Samsung Galaxy S2, so maybe I am a little unbalanced lol

All in all, the Citlopram did a great job, and got me through a tough time, but now this is all me!
