Out of the 5 turbo cars i've owned the only one that i've had any chatter with is my current Turbo 2000.
Had a PiperX induction kit when i bought it and was fairly loud. Replaced it with a Blitz LM from my old WRX and it was louder and deeper, so was the exhaust. Then last week i got a Blitz Sonic Power at a bargain price, fitted that and the chatter's so quiet now you can't hear it at all unless you really give it some.

My STI7 at 1.5 with TD05 18G, FMIC and K&N sounded mental, as did my 400bhp Evo6

Must be other factors too though based on my previous cars...
Escort RS Turbo: standard airbox then a K&N 57i, no chatter with either
2WD Sapphire Cosworth: PiperX induction kit, no chatter
MR2 GTS: standard airbox, no chatter
MY94 WRX: Blitz LM, no chatter
however, after fitting the same filter to my Turbo 2000 the chatter was as loud as the BOV, if not louder

It's the opn cone and blanked off DV, the pressure coming back through the Cone is increased because there is no other Vent for the pressure to escape through. The cone just acts as an amplifier
Get's even better with a FMIC.

The dump valve must be blocked off. This stops the escape route for the air so it has to go back towards the turbo.
As above, the large cone is an amplifier.
The best I've ever heard was on a pals 550bhp saph. His turbo was enormous !! I think the larger the turbo the louder and higher pitch the chatter.
Another pal wanted his little 1.8T golf to chatter. I blocked his DV and fitted a KnN filter. The chatter was there but very quiet. He then decided to go with a VTA DV.

Here is a vid of mine that I filmed today. Camera man skills are pretty poor but the chatter can be heard.
