Button has always been in the top league, he only needed a top car as he demonstrated early in his career. He earned his world championship too.

Hamilton is also an outstanding driver, if he gets his problems and hence his attitude sorted he will be as good as any on the track.

While your response is amusing the fact remains that one company is ultimately responsible for setting real world web develpment back 5 years and making the web user's experience worse.... Apple!

Move on man, take a look at my example and provide the same for your customer, if Apple can present a video on a simple page then so can you, retrain.

Web Development is all about Apple, webkit is by far the most popular browser in use today and anyone who ignores that fact and keeps bleating on about Adobe's failure isn't doing themselves or their customers any good at all.

Oh is that what you were getting at with that. Er but that is using the Quicktime plugin. Aside from the fact it is longwinded to get, most people don't want it, it implements at different sizes in some browsers, the video formats it uses are about the worst combination of quality to file size in the industry and it doesn't support positioned streaming without a streaming server I would say that's a good idea. Oh and I have no idea whether Android phones can use it.

No what I am after is something that runs at the same size on every platform, runs in the page, allows positioned streaming and uses a plugin in most people have or better still doesn't use one at all and does all that with one single video format that is a good quality to file size ratio..... like Flash is/was

Actually just this afternoon I have cooked an MP4 file in H264 and if I use that with the Longtail Flash Video player and the latest version of Flash installed I can get it to play in IE9/IE8/Chrome/Firefox/Safari/Opera and on the iPhone/iPad and it positions properly, allows positioned streaming and the file size is nice.... looks like we may be back in business.

Webkit is a long way from the most popular browser, Microsoft still have 54% of the market and Firefox 22%. Safari is on 8% and Chrome about
13%... all of which is irrelevant of course because as a web developer generating public websites I need to make everything work in all major browsers.

Lol wrong again. I sold it because it was chunky and no real use to me. The Playbook was bought for me as a gift.
Of the 2 I prefer the Playbook

I've been toying with the idea of getting either an iPad2 and and Android tablet for some time now and after weeks of deliberations and research, I think I've settled on getting a Galaxy Tab 10.1. The iPad is a great piece of kit and well put together, but it's just too restrictive and too Fisher Price. The Galaxy felt just as well made, had a better screen and above all, way more customizable.

Yes, I sold it in the knowledge I was getting a Playbook, but not to fund it. Like I say, I wasn't using the iPad, didn't take it anywhere, so knowing I was getting a Playbook sped up the process of selling it, and gave me much needed spare cash.

Lol for once take something for what it is.

Picked up a blackberry playbook at the weekend its greatfun. syncs nicley with my torch

TBH why does anyone need an ipad when there is so much choice avaialable,

what does an ipad offer that the others dont? and if its that evident, why dont apple front this "" uber app"" as the hook to pull punters in?

PRehaps i should have looked at blackberry years ago, its just like using my treo all over again

Apple made to come up with alternate designs so Samsung don't infringement patents- how pathetic are these so called patents!.

Its true, if you have a piece of rectangular wood you might face litigation from apple

Well I got my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 this weekend, in fact I'm using it to post this. It was hard getting one as all the shops I went to were sold out. Of all the android tablets and iPad, I'm pleased I made the right choice. The iPad would have been my next choice had I not been able to get the Galaxy Tab. One critism about android tablets is that there aren't many tablet optimised apps in the market and the ones that are there are hard to find. That's not to say they don't work though, but hopefully, we will start to see a big growth in the android tablet market early next year with the release of ICS.
