Winter 2011/2012

No sign of snow in North Wales yet. Hard core frost on the car this morning, though. Wind was causing havoc all night. People had put out recycling gear for morning collection, so a tin can decided to jump out and roll around on the street, causing serious disturbance for hours in the middle of the night. Anyway, not a bad day here, just crisp cold. Life goes on as it is; for now.

The rock salt trader said that it was due to snow this morning here. I am seriously concerned now. Office receptionist also said that it has already snowed today in Llangollen. ****.

It's going to be VERY wild Tomorrow. As it's looking now, there is going to be some damage as a result of this. Stay clear of Trees.
Very suprised the Meto have only just issued warnings for this.

Actually Meto issued a slight warning yesterday, and only updated it to Amber and Red Today. Anyone watching the Models will have seen this a few days ago..Nailed on T72

Yes, you can look at the models and make an educated guess as to whether a low pressure system will just steer off north on the jet stream exit or continue on its track and go through explosive cyclogenesis. If the Met Office put out warnings every time a low pressure system *could* explode then we would have red warnings every week at this time of year.
That's the difference between suggesting what *could* happen and what *will* happen. You and I can do *could* all day long. Only people listening and on here. Met Office have to do *will* when it comes to warnings etc.
Anyway, where is this 3-5 days of snowfall and bitter temps that we were having this week?
