I hope we don't get round 2 of the raging winds here. It trashed 3 of my fence panels in round 1. It cost me a bit to get them sorted, like. I also had to walk into the town one day before Christmas, because my car got stuck in the snow on my drive. The walk was very pleasant, but my Reynaud's kicked in so badly that I thought that the fingers on my left hand were to be lost forever. I am a left hander, so I was a tad concerned. Luckily, it got better. I hope for it not to snow too much either anymore.

Nothing much to shout about, deffo colder, but regarding the snow, it's not nailed on, and deffo wont hit the country widespread...It's looking good for the Cold lovers, myself I'm sick of the mild and windy spells that we have been getting.

Of course, I am for real!
Driving is a trouble in snow and on icey roads, innit? I was made acquainted to a study on the snow in 2009-2010 winter. The majority of respondants felt isolated and depressed during the long period of snow and freezing temperatures in Britain. They should have had a laptop each to get onto Scoobynet, I know. Anyway, that study supports the fact that snow is okay for a day or two, or on the Christmas day. More than that is a pain the @rse in Great Britain. Great Britain is never prepared to face a long term snow. For me, even short term is a pain because our village roads become unusable due to snow. I have bought some grit this year, mind.

Looks like it's going to get very cold next week Wednesday onwards.
At the moment The charts and Models are in agreement that we are going to drag some very cold air in from the East...An biting cold Easterly is 70% on the cards.
This has the potential to deliver some decent Snowfall Mainly down the Eastern side of the UK.
Keep an eye out for Meto Updates. The BBC etc, should start mentioning the cold from Sunday onwards.

Very high winds here for last two days- all day and all bleddy night, breaking my peace, chain of thoughts, and most importantly; my sleep. It goes quiet for a minute, and then the insane wind comes charging with vengeance; attempting to blow my fence away again. However, I predict that the fence will win this time.

A lot of snow over here in Austria at the moment (western part of Austria) We got ~20 inches of snow the last 24 hours in and a little bit more in the mountains. We got 15-20 inches several times this year, I will look for some pics. In some regions we have more than 5 metres at the moment (up on the mountain)
Fun with my scooby, but nearly too much today

Can't believe how we're 'getting away with it'! No snow in Leic. thus far - surely there's gotta be some!
Suits me fine TBH - hate the snow/ice/slush, when having to drive with other divs on the road.
Funnily enough, the Met reckoned it was supposed to have snowed in the E.Mids between 4 & 11am today.... But nowt in Leic.

First chart shows the Upper Air Temps..-8 TO -10 Showing that is enough to give snow to low levels. Notice it's the start of a very cold Easterly direction for wind.
This Second chart shows where the precip is ,and is likley to fall as snow. This could all change in the next few days regarding Snowfall and amounts...
Now, there is a massive area of cold over Russia ATM. This seems to be heading West, with the Easterly falling into place, the UK will tap into this..And Over Russia its very ..Very cold -40...But If we do get this I won't expect those temps due to Sea temps and N snow field.
Another thing to think about is the Sea temps. They will be about 6-8 degrees and the uppers about -8 that itself will produce some really heavy showers...
So if you have Snow Tyres think about putting them on..Always keep an eye out for your local forcast's too..
