British gas service plan is very good, I know lots of people who have claimed on things that have gone wrong and they have replaced them.

It's worth investigating the VAT.

It used to be that if you upgraded your system to be more economic with controls, etc the VAT on that element was calculated at a reduced rate. I would have siad that a condensing boiler and controls should qualify.

Not many plumbers admit to this because I guess it gives them a headache re calculations and VAT man.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one, its easy for me to say as its my trade, but I believe that if you were to save the 20 odd quid a month, you'd be better off without there cover.

I thought it sounded a bit heavy at first, but I now think it was a reasonable charge for that much work.
