Well to be honest I am in 2 minds on what to do with the car. As you know it's just a weekend car as I have my van for work during the week so it doesn't get used that much.

I had an email off Olly Clark last week with the quote for a stage 1 conversion. Now with the money quoted I have 2 options, get it done and turn an excellent car into something a little bit more special or keep the money in the bank and wait for a Hawkeye RA-R or a T25 Spec C to come along. There is a T25 Spec C for sale now but I think it's too soon to get rid of the Spec C for that.

I did get the car mapped by Racedynamix a couple of weeks ago and just had the MOT done and with the full service at RCM the car is pretty much flawless. A couple of small chips on the paintwork I need to get removed and a full detail is what I'll be getting done next.

If you had the car mapped by Racedynamix then what is the RCM stage 1?

Hello Buddy,

Basically it is an upgrade of basic parts, mainly:

Uprated fuel pump
Full straight throught exhaust
Induction kit
Exhaust manifold
3 port bost solenoid
Platinum spark plugs
Ecutek remap

Obviously the above list as well as labour and VAT it doesn't come cheap so I'm having a think before I commit to it.

Obviously rcm are amazing but you could do that lot yourself for a lot less:

Uprated fuel pump - not needed on spec c
Full straight throught exhaust -secondhand h&s or similar for £450
Induction kit -£125
Exhaust manifold - not needed
3 port bost solenoid- £50
Platinum spark plugs-£50
Ecutek remap - dynamic map tweek/ map again £100

Plus updated actuator £120 and labour to fit above bits

Hmmm you dont need to upgrade the fuel pump on a Spec C for what you are after, have you seen the size of them? Shaun was running 500bhp on his standard one, and if you fit some crappy walbro nasty peice of junk, it wont be as good or last as long
Stick with the standard part there

Rick, that's exactly why I haven't committed. I mean the car is fast enough as it is, I would purely be doing it for stupid reasons.

Not sure on power but I would say easily upward of 350-360.

Enjoy it as is imo and when you get a bit bored of power in 6 months to a year then do it. In the meanwhile keep an eye out on here and eBay for the exhaust system which is the pricey bit and where you can save £400

Yeah you're probably right mate, I do hate scrimping on my cars but I think for once I'll take your advice. The wife has today had a 36% payrise so she has just treated me to some nice bits for the car........I'll post pics when they arrive!!

Hello Mate,

Cheers! Yes I have a backbox on it but obviously being from Japan it has to be below 96db to pass their equivalent of the MOT, it has the JASMA stamp on it. It's too quiet for me, at the minute so I have a Vortex on it's way....that should sort it out!

I really want a new Induction Kit as I'm not too happy with the other, when Duncan mapped it the MAF sensor was reading quite hot on tick over, I'd go back to the OEM air box but I'm thinking a bigger Induction Kit will rectify the problem. So once I've got all the parts I'll get it all fitted and get Duncan to give it a little tweek.

Been to Surrey Rolling Road today, also had a 3 port and a RCM induction kit fitted. Duncan was there to tweek the map as well. Think I'm going to have to go de-cat though.

Happy with the figures:

I'm thinking 350/375 and that will be about it I reckon. Never know, extremely good engines so could be more.

Good stuff mate

Go decat full 3".
What peak boost was it mapped at?
Is it a standard clutch?

JDM 6 speed is slightly different ratios to UK speed and apparently has a stronger 5th & 6th IIRC.

So in theory could you leave the standard box up to 400?

Looking forward to seeing the results Rob!
