being a tight yorkshireman, I wouldn't want a 100k car that did 25 mpg ! yes you may get 40 on motorway, but when do any of us ever get decent mpg as a manufacturer claims ?? if its doing 25 now, that means thats all you'll probably ever see. I think yr resale will be tough, as it'll have even more miles, lots to choose from and not many will touch 150K ex-expensive motors.
you could have an impreza which will do 25 mpg plus and be a damn site quicker than the bmw. and awd too for the winter !!!
yep a 330 might be better, but its a tiny little car, its bound to be.

We went to the ring and my brother M5 and the scooby were the same speed from 0 to 150mph..the gearing is longer on the M5..
Anyway the scoobies had to go, petrol is way too expensive!
The 535d is as quick as the old M5 once chipped..and its a diesel.
330 is too small..

You're spot on mate, I've checked the mileage on the Vosa site before, it also tells you what it failed an MOT on if it did in fact fail and any advisory points.
My car was a one owner car, it came with a folder with all the old MOTs and service sheets in and an up to date service book all stamped by BMW.
I had a 430 bhp R33 GT R before this and a mate has a 500bhp R32 GT R and he was shocked at how quick the 535d is from a standing start. You just don't get the drama, noise or feel every pot hole. In this you can be doing 100 leptons and not realise.
If you do go for it I don't think you will be disappointed, I'm certainly not with mine.

This pooped up, so me and my brother made a trip up to see it...
It seemed cheap, low mileage and with many extra's and only 2 owners!
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3306534149...#ht_500wt_1413
Car was dirty, it was raining, so used a cloth to wipe down some parts of the car, we found many scratches not deep but still not nice.
One side of the car had been resprayed, as well as the front bumper. Bumper was not on correctly.
The car had 3 owners and not two!
Car did not have upgraded sound system as in the add, infact he did not have a clue when questioned. I did not see a multi changer in the car either.
It had the Sunny brand tyres on the car, so test drive was poor as the roads were wet car handled like ****..
The interior however was clean, could not see any evidence that the milleage maybe incorrect. Seats were not worn, nor was the steering wheel etc..
The engine sounded exactly like my brothers 535d, which ahs 120k on the clock...which is still very quite..
Car drove very slow, in comparison to my brothers remapped car - i mean noticeably slower..
I have now made up my mind and will be taking my brothers car off him in two weeks..
(car is clean inside out, no accidents, tints, remap)

Shame as Carbon Black is one of the nicest colours. Auto changer should have been in the glove box. Looks like it may have the upgrade sound and nav as there are two cd/DVD slots. It has advanced climate control. Something with the cars and a lot of cars come to that is if you drive it like miss daisy it will start responding like miss daisy. If you drive it like you stole it it will respond like that. It does take a bit of time to change from one to the other.
Having said all that it was quite expensive for an 54 plate and if it was a bit rough externally as well then you're far better to go with a car you know. At least with your brothers every time something goes wrong you'll be able to go back and run a guilt trip by him. Only joking, get it bought and enjoy it, I've had mine a few weeks now without any problems and it's awesome, wish I'd bought one ages ago.
