Can you lend me a tenner til payday
Thats dedication with a dash of insanity imo.I love my Prezza but not that much,to my mind you can buy a serious car for that sort of money.
No disrespect to people saying that car is worth £8k + all day long etc but it ended with no bids & as they say anything is only worth what someones willing to pay.

I paid no where near that

The problem with this car is that it was built to a personal spec regarding the colour and styling and that doesn't appeal to everyone and that narrows your target market. You could break it and you'd probably get your money back at the starting price but who wants to break a car that has only just been finished
If it was still in it's original colour I feel it may have had a wider market, it's a great spec but people that are looking for a car like that are few and far between and you have to appeal to a wider audience. I've spent £10k+ building my 555 (including cost of the car) and it has the same bhp as this but it still looks like a 555 for example.

To be perfectly honest the market is strong with people wanting to modify there own cars rather than buying one built so the ONLY way the owner will see decent money returned is breaking imo and on top of that and already mentioned the colour has narrowed the market even further.

Building it yourself is so much more expensive though and a lot of work. Granted it's satisfying to build it yourself but when I think what I've spent building mine and what my other car owes me I could have just gone and bought a 911! The 911 wouldn't touch my scoob though but it would have been easier
I have no doubt this car cost a lot more than the £8k to build and it's a huge shame he's selling it and not using it and enjoying it, it's not even like he's selling it on at a profit

I do believe we buy cars that appeal to us aesthetically. The car will limit the number of people because of its individuality. I would love a car with that spec but really can't see myself driving it.

I have to put my hands up & say that to be honest I did not really understand exactly what this car had got to make it so special (I do now)
I looked at it & saw an older classic with some 'ahem' rather strange colour choices etc & thought it was a bit like the red snowplough. There is no doubt that this car has had alot of effort & money put in to it & I feel a bit of a **** for being so disrespectful toward it.As I think someone else had mentioned it would be nice to have the money/time & enthusiasm (of which I have none) to reshell this into a later type R,That then imo would be a very special car indeed.

Yep it's a real shame he's spent so much time and money to create something so personalised with it has to be said a great spec, i'd give my back teeth for a 2.35.
Here lies the perfect example and a warning to anyone doing a big project of this nature, all very well creating something personal / different but when it comes to sale time it needs to have broad appeal and be in a desirable shell.
I think he would do better droping a £500 standard lump back in it and flog it for a couple of g's as a nice clean example, the car doesn't look so bad, but the bay looks like the green goblin took a dump in there, and i won't mention the interior, no offence intended but just really not to my taste, then as said before sell the engine ect on here and ebay best way to get top dollar back, imo.
I feel for the guy must really hurt to part with it.
Oh and if i had 8k id pop his arms out the sockets to get it, but i doubt he would let it go for that.

That's what I intend to do for my next car.
It'll prob be a Hawk JDM STi but built to around 550-650+ by the previous owner/s, using only the best components/specialists.
Makes all the financial sense in the world.
