Nothing like spending money on upgrades and posting pictures of it to make you feel better

Great to see you again today Tim and massive thanks for dropping by with the sensors, hope the wheel exchange went well after!

So today I managed to find a few minutes to bolt the cambelt covers back on and install the oil pressure/temp sensors Tim dropped in and then have a trail fit of the inlet manifold to see what clearance I have under the manifold for the 3" inlet and thankfully all looks good!

Just waiting on new rocker cover gaskets with new retaining bolts/collar washers to turn up and I can get the rockers back on and then start bolting it all together,I am very happy with how it's starting to take shape!

The blue pulleys will go well with the blue samco's as mentioned but also there will be numerous blue/red -an fittings so will also go well with them.

Yes Tubs a reverse manifold,as I am going to be running a engine tuner S215 with compressor outlet clocked the other way to standard turbos and the custom intercooler will have the inlet/outlet poking out around the radiator inside the bay it will make for a very short intercooler pipe run indeed!

Thanks frayz, shame it can't stay like it unless you never drive it or spent stupid amounts of time cleaning it after every drive!

Jon. Yes I have blue coolant hoses but it's the fuel and power steering that will have the -an threaded type fittings which are blue and red mate

Do you mind me asking who reversed the manifold and polished it?

So in between jobs today I found 10 mins here and there and got the rocker covers back in place as the new bolts/washers and gaskets turned up along with putting the breathers on which are done in crinkle red.
Next was to remove the sump and fit the cossie baffle and refit the headers, while I was in that area I fitted the oil cooler take off[mocal thermostatic type]
Didn't get pictures during fitting given the lack of time but here is one after parts fitted and current standing before I left today,I did have a quick trial fit of the turbo but I need to grind the block to get it to fit right lol.

Cheers Jon,I did look into the rocker cover bolts but they are a specific length with a shoulder at the end of the threaded part so you don't over tighten and pull down a certain amount when done up tight against the shoulder so I just got new genuine ones instead with new washers

BTW, as per your wish...

I've ripped off the carbon wrap this is what I have done so far...

I've ordered some black alcantara to trim the sun-visors and have some chrome door handles to fit, but when the black is back in stock I shall also be painting:-
  • Glove box
  • Under the steering column
  • Steering column surround
  • Front splitter (with a gloss finish)
  • Roof flap handle (in red) to match the hazard switch
  • Adjustable lateral arms (in red)
  • Coil springs (if I don't buy coilovers)
  • Possibly the door cards
  • TBC - FMIC pipework, oil catch can and induction kit/maf housing
  • A, B, and C pillars - if I can find an easy way to get the seatbelts through the c-pillars
  • all of the door surround plastics (steps etc)

Just need a new gearbox now - one or two hard launches including some awesome tyre smoke (cough - in reverse) and it's getting a little noisy

Sweet that looks the nuts Jon,I really think that was a good decision to ditch the cf wrap and go with the rubberised coating!
Not good on the gearbox though, you'll defo need it before you fit the new engine upgrades

It is the black, and in the flesh it is jet black. I'm toying with another colour for some of the lower trim

Found a bit of time today to bolt a few more bits on the engine, turbo is now installed, power steering pump with jockey wheel in tensioning bracket and newage coils also bolted in ready to measure up and make the looms to fit onto my classic harness.
Also a finished shot of the samco inlet pipe I customized so it had no outlets.
