Today saw the primer run on the shell, got the last few bits prep'd and got her masked up,pretty happy with how it all looks and once it has hardened we can get it flatted and it should come up really well when the top coat goes on given how it looks now.
Just the rear diffuser to finish up along with constructing the bumper to form around the diffuser, prep the boot lid ie weld over the key hole and get some primer/2K onto them with bonnet also and it will be this cycle complete.

And before anyone mentions I wasn't concerned about the tank/rear crossmember getting over sprayed as they are coming off for paint/powder coating lol

Thanks Frayz, this was a dirty run tbho with some of the prep being done in the booth but with the car immobilised there wasn't much choice plus all the little nooks and crannys you just can't get all the debris out as much as we try to blow and wipe down so this was basically trapping the crap ready to flat for a nice clean run on top coat.

Top coat colour is still to be finalised mate

Fit that old turbo of yours, some powder coating, clean out a load of old salt corrosion on the block and some smoothing

Get a new bonnet vent that I need you add some colour to before I cut the bonnet

Got the shell back into the booth to get some top coat going, first task was to flat down the primer and get it masked up,we decided to do the engine bay and boot in this run with the shell being done tomorrow.
This was because it is simply to much to do all as one and get it all right.

The colour has been a constant thought on my mind for the last couple of months but I finally made a decision I'm happy with,it is a completely custom one off consisting of a bronze base with black[with green pearl in it] on top of that and a light coat of candy mid-night red pearl for the finish.
It looks reminiscent of the mid-night purple the skyline uses but red lol, what I wanted was while the car sits out of direct sunlight to have an almost black look but 'pop' in the sunlight which I'm more than sure it will

Thanks guys I'm starting to get very excited now, when I paint the shell tomorrow I can then start bolting parts back to it,it's been a long time coming but I'm getting there slowly!
It's very hard to see the colour properly in the pics[as they are poor quality lol] as the artificial light makes the colour miles away from it's true look,I'll post some more pics once it exits the booth and it's in the daylight,it's fooking gorgeous though!!

I know the mix perfectly for any mis-haps Gaz
