Nice progress Ryan it's starting to look a lot more like the finished article, you'll be at Rallyday without a doubt although you will be parked behind my car.

It's deep... I think it's perfect. I could do with talking to you for some colour advice for the underside of mine, to me I see a colour in my mind but I can't translate that to a colour code

No problem Si just PM whenever you want mate

Today didn't see any progress as I was working on Alex@Torques UK's T5 transporter which I'm doing a full T6 conversion with added sportline extra's.
I did however pay Alex a visit to get some unions for the full power steering conversion to AN type unions plus I also want to put the oil pressure switch's for toucan/dash board inside the car, this is because the current setup means it just simply cant be hidden away to my liking so it's going remotely located inside so unions for that have been acquired as well.

Do you really want the possibility of hot oil spraying around inside the car if a union fails? Fuel and oil should be kept away from the inside of the car, IMHO!!

Cheers Steve

Had half hour on her tonight to get the forged 90's on the dry breaks in the boot which pretty much completes the fuel system, need to slightly raise the height of the fuel filter so it lines up better but all par done in the boot on the fuel side of things.

Ross came over and welded on the brackets to the front tubular bar for the PAS cooler so now the lines can be run but also I can now get front bar all cleaned up and painted so it's finished with.

Battery box is now got rivnuts in the flat floor and bolted down with some pro-bolt action!

Aren't they just, and even simple jobs like running the 4-gauge wiring for the battery relocation needs a wing removing to do it properly and that eats into the time

At least I've got my powder coating stuff away and I have the plastidip to sort out the interior bits (plus a few others)

I'll get them packaged up and off to you soon. I don't have my TGVs, but they are that small and hidden I could just coat them in some VHT stuff I have. I need to grind a couple of spare lugs of the manifold and reshape one for my oil pressure t-piece but I can do that at the weekend

And because of time I'll probably end up getting Rich to fit the turbo, injectors and stuff at the same time as he does the remap - still need to finish my brakes

Having a low moment again, the amount of time and money going into this thing is doing me in and with how much is still to go I'm feeling a bit down

Start with a list...mark things that *have* to be done, and those you'd *like* to do. Estimate time and cost for the "must-do" and decide if you want to continue...but balance that against the cost of jacking it in.

Or...have a beer or 3, and all will be well in the morning

Tbho the money isn't the big thing,it's the mammoth amount of time it swallows up.

I know that feeling well. When that happens to me, I just put it away for a week or 2, and come back to it later.

It always takes longer to do these things than you first plan. Take a step back and leave it for a little bit and go back when you're feeling fresh. Don't give up now, theres far too much at stake.
Just think, in the not too distant future, the first time you take her out and press the loud pedal, all the depressing thoughts you're having now will be forgotten in a flash!

Just man up and get on with it, all that time and effort you'll only regret it if you give up now. Go out over the weekend, get pissed, cry into your pint and then get on with finishing it

Deffo empathise Ryan...I'm between a rock and a hard place at present due to missing pull clutch conversion parts that are no longer made

I just try to remember its supposed to be fun so just go do something else for a bit (OK weeks ), and hen revisit it. Hold fast and kick it in the nuts after a breather my friend
