Interesting to see all the horsepower macho B******T, having driven both Supra and Scooby in the wet - sorry no competition!!!
I now own a Scooby!!! It runs 287BHP which is very usable! and very enjoyable!!! who could ask for more!!!
Well Im sure I could be persuaded that a few xtra horsepower would be nice but don't want horsepower so badly that I would trade down to a Supra!!! :-)
Jus kidding you Supra owners - nice car but I prefer my Scooby!!

SB,
I was just pointing out that your story keeps changing thats all RE: the PRO PRO PRO ( ), I just wanted to hear *you* tell me what the difference was. If you don't know or don't want to tell me, that's fine by me - it's just you ignored my question several times so I was wondering if you knew the difference.
I'm glad that you've found a car that makes you happy, after all, that's the only thing that really counts......
Cheers,
Matt

And, just to help you out again www.turboimports.com/450rwhp.html
Indeed it is if you're interested in the drag stip and not handling - you deffo seem to be but I'm not....but it doesn't matter, like I said, if it makes you happy, that's the important thing....

Thats on stock turbocharger Matt.Do you know what that meanS? If you get twin turbochargers you are talking for 700+. $6000= £3800+£5000 for twin HKS rollerbearing turbochargers = £8,800+Labour= £10,000 = 700BHP+ ON STOCK BOTTOM ENGINE.Is that good or what?

-Darran,
I was going to get this one: http://www.svaimports.com/forcort1.html
Reason I didn't come is that I bought my Supra on Friday and I was fitting an alarm on Saturday.I was going to buy a 600+ Supra last weekend but turned out that the trader who was selling it made me wait for ever(4 weeks) to go and see it so I had enough and I found this immaculate Supra which i bought last week. But next time I will come-I will have done some more mods to it
-Matt Thanks I will enjoy my new car.
-It doesn't handle as bad as you think even on the wet you just need to be more carefull.Anyway i was fed up with all the reliability subaru issues+cheap interior and i really like to get the looks from other people(Subaru is ok) but i love the Supra(makes people staring at the car like idiots)+Perfomance wise there is no comparison and driving position etc etc. When Supra first came out was costing 45K!!.Thats where the difference is-

Calling Cossie - show these 1/4 mile Supra boys what it's all about
Your missing the point here, the Impreza is derived from a car that is meant to be spending 90% of its time going seriously sideways on gravel - the Supra is not. Two different beasts, both good for their own reasons.

The URL posted for turbo imports is based on a US domestic market spec car, this is a much easier car to tune than a Jap-Spec as it has standard 550cc injectors (440's on J-spec), and Turbo's which will hold more boost safely (steel not ceramic). To get that sort of power from a J-Spec reliably I think both those will need upgrading, ie 440cc injectors aren't good for much above 450 at the flywheel, and the turbos would need rebuilding/replacing.
That said I understand the handling of J-specs is better.

Highlander, trade down to a supra? Why then Subarus cost 25K less originally? Because they are better? Yeah Subaru handle bit better on the wet so what? I don't live on a mountain which i could use a 4wd round lots of bends etc.I want pure power which subaru cant provide.286 is good enough for you, have a race with an E36 Evo and you will see how usable is your 286bhp.Subaru is unreliable power,i have been there done it broken couple of gearboxes blown an engine...Fantastic reliability

I think a lot of people knock a Supra handling 'cos it's quite a "large" car.
Down B roads, the Scoob isn't necessarily better, but it's so much smaller you can do more with it.
On A roads, as with Skylines, I would say that a Supra would be quite capable of pulling away from an equal performance Scoob.
Kostas, I think your estimates for big power are quite a way off what they actually would cost to do properly - but the money you spent on your Scoob would more than likley get you a REAL 500 safe and sorted hp instead of a billy bull5hit 700 - and with a proper 500hp it would be very very quick. Doubt you'd be worrying about M3s for more than a split second till it comes on boost

I love the way most comments about the way big cars drive are made by those who've never driven them.
Skyline's are crap. I'm buying a 700bhp Flymo, which I can do for £40.00. Tell me where you can get that performance for that price?

Cem thats b*ll*x, theres no way you can get more than 500bhp out of a Flymo without spending less than £14k or buying a EVC Pro Pro Pro!!!
You should buy a Mountfield, where the power gains are much more realistic and for lots less dollar. So what if they dont handle aswell as Flymos.....
Visit the dark side!!!

Too right. If anyone can show me a genuine 700bhp Supra they've put together for £10k can they please tell the entire Supra owning community, as we'd be very interested to know.
On the other hand, I have a feeling all these figures are total bollocks, and I won't believe otherwise until I see some proper bench-dyno figures.
Note - Jap-spec Supra's only have about 300bhp, and about 315lbft of torque. This is countered by them making their power/torque lower down the rev-range than their UK counterparts, and usually weighing less do to less extras.
Alert - believeable power claim:
UK-spec Supra TT, decat, Nur Spec, 1.1bar - 350bhp, at most.

What an interesting topic. I did like the comment that Kosta's new car feels much faster than his old Scoob.
But thats probably cos his old scoob was a bag of cack, I know cos I drove it - truly awful, so if the new estimates are anything to go by on the Supra, it must have lower power than std. I need to get miself dwon to TDI and get a 500bhp read out of mi car... then It'll prove indisputably that I do, indeed have the power!
I looked at the Supra's a while back and decided that all things tolled they were not in the same league as the Scoob - my opinion others will differ as they are welcome to. Straight line yeah (I had one go away from me the other day at 160mph (on a private road officer) but I'd like to see them handle on our wet, undulating, ubiquitous roads

Oi mcbullock, shut the **** up and go away. You are all jealous *******s who are driving bangers and thinking you have nice subarus.Have you taken a closer look at the subarus? How do they look like. The corolla Guy maybe an idiot but he is right about subarus looking like corollas. Now Steve go and drive your piece of **** A3 and your 100,000 pounds car which you get 330bhp out of it and go home to tell your stories to someone else.Ask the guy who bought it who had a Tuscan and felt faster than his TVR
