I'd give a fair few turbo's a good kicking in one i would think in an event such as scooby shootout, especially if it were wet.
But do read the rest of my previous post to understand what i am saying about the Sport, i'm not sugesting it's a car to use in anything in particular, just that it's an underated and often unfairly judged proposition.
I know i'd much rather see a young driver in one of these than a saxo or corsa, it's far safer.

as regards power of sports etc, 3 yrs ago i bought a new ford focus 1.8 zetec with optional sport sus pack and power upgrade....great on mpg, great top speed and motorway capabilities.....but ****e on the twisties, my blobeye sport might not have stupid power, but it certainly has the looks and the handling is in a diff league to the focus...i love mine, doesnt mean i wouldnt consider a turbo model...but for what it does im happy and as said numerous times i aint a young lad who cant afford the real deal...its my choice !!

I've read a few times on SN across the years that Scoobs have fantastic grip / traction but lack handling and Focus's are widely accepted as the best handling car in it's class.
Having driven a few Focus's and having owned a Scoob i do agree 100% with you Lee on the handling being better on a Scoob.
I'm neither Lewis or Jenson so maybe one of our resident driving gods could clear up about the handling of the two cars - Is being neutral near the limit the definition of a great handling car for instance?

Now what have I learned from this thread?
1. Sports are crap, like wanting a racehorse and ending up with a donkey
2. Sports will outrun anything in the twisties.
3. I have never seen anyone be humbled and resorted to licking @rse like F1.

.....having thought about it though, many of you wipper snappers couldn't insure a Turbo until you were 25 where as i bought mine when i was 23 (2001) and insured it with all mods declared for £1100 on 3 years no claims so a Turbo was easily in reach. As an aside, in the year i sold it (@313bhp and with 3 points aged 30) i was paying £430 - i now pay just short of £500 having made no claims ever on a grp 8 Fabia Vrs at the age of 34 WTF?

LOL, sorry if engaging in an intelligent exchange with a poster whose opinion I respect is seen by you as licking ****, but don't worry as you will never be accorded the same seeing as you come up short on both counts

Your assessment of my post as cringeworthy is only your opinion which (in my educated opinion) is that of a retarded **** so therefore utterly insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but thanks for posting anyway... it's been... ****... as usual

Better there than the special needs classes you are no doubt all too familiar with... that's when you're not out cleaning windows with your tongue or making some other poor sod's live a misery with the inane drivel you call conversation!

Your obsession with this subject is a little worrying, perhaps you need some help.

When you express an opinion on here you stick by it, not back track and start sniveling and groveling.

It's you're not your!!
Seeing as you can't even construct basic grammar I doubt very much you could suss out how to tie your shoe laces let alone suss me out over an internet connection
Well leaving aside the fact that I have neither backtracked (notice the lack of a space in that word for future reference please ) or snivelled or grovelled (double l by the way ) seeing as you have been here for the metaphorical equivalent of half a day and most of your small number of posts have been little more than trivial irrelevance you will have to forgive me if I take little notice of a lecture on how SN works from you!
Now stop posting and go and get yourself a dictionary

The truth is as a result of YOUR handwringing and snivelling to JF, you are a laughing stock in front of the Sport boys. They really own you on this thread
It's not the first time you have played the keyboard warrior and been proved wrong, even a numb nut like me has proved you wrong in the past. YOUR @rse is mine sweetcheeks.
In fact i'm that embarrassed for you i'm thinking of selling the turbo and buying a sport

Ha ha same old, same old spelling, grammar and i've been posting on here longer than you routine, just how many times have you used that one? You really need to change YOUR script. The next thing you will be spitting the dummy out and calling for me to be banned, YOUR usual tactic.

Despite all the baseless bluster and yet more homoerotic references in your latest post the one thing that is interesting to note is that you have been at pains to make sure your English is correct...... now... who 'owns' who?

education or intelligence based on spelling is massively flawed particularly as you constantly make your own spelling errors while attempting to highlight and prove other peoples apparent shortcomings.
Only a fool would assess a persons intellect based on spelling
This is a tactic that you utilise when your unfounded arguments and insults aimed by yourself at others as a result of trolling a thread such as this one are often exposed as 'baseless bluster'.
You have been left with egg on your face by John Felstead, and you then backtrack and proceded to patronise and massage the ego of JF which was embarrasing, excruciatingly pitiful and laughable all at the same time.
You then try to excuse your behavior by hypothesising and explaining that you were engaging in an intelligent exchange, after trolling somebody elses thread and insulting others.
You then called me a retarded ****.
The only difference between you and me dear heart, is that i would actually call you that to your face while you are just another pretentious tinternet keyboard warrior.
Forget about your self percieved standing on snet and about the number of posts that you have, get yourself a life, or even a girlfriend.

Anyway as fun as this banter has been (even if you are not much of an opponent) it all feels a bit pathetic in light of yesterday's sad news so maybe you too should jog on and get that life as for some people it is sadly all too short
