I don't think so - and as quoted above - HD is available via iPlayer.

iPlayer is a licensed distribution channel for BBC TV programmes and there are licensing terms and conditions you adhere to by signing up to use.

FinalGear is not - why do you think they have comments such as 'found it hard to get a rip of this programme'?

Also if the BBC were happy for you to download their licensed and commercial content then surely they would provide that service - which they do not.

Maybe if you paid your license fee they could afford to improve it

I've only just got around to watching it. I thought it was pretty poor but still entertaining. Did anyone else not notice that James May had the Union flag the wrong way round? I'm surprised at him for messing that up really..

I finished it last night as well. Having watched it in little bits for various "I'm busy" type reasons. I was very not very impressed.

It was 'okay', but a bit all over the place with nothing as good as usual.

Same here, although it wasn't awful (except the garden party bit), it wasn't much good either. I believe the modern term is 'a bit meh'.

HD version, now stop moaning

For exactly theis reason I have a home theatre PC connected to my TV
Couldn't wait...before it was available I had already DL'd, watched it and deleted it: Torrent straight to the NAS, then streamed to my TV (built in media server). Who needs a PC?

Only problem is motion-interpolation on my TV doesn't work on streamed content (No Intelligent frame creation) so panning scenes are judder-tastic like a nasty LCD TV (or on a PC via a monitor)

I really should get a Tivo now, as it should have 'remembered' to record it. I've got V+ set up on series link, but seeing the special wasn't on the usual time slot, it didn't record it.

I'm going to a build a HTPC for the bedroom though as I can't find a suitable subscription-free set top box. But it has to be no bigger than a Hi-Fi seperate, totally silent (no fans, SSD etc), DVB-T (and maybe DVB-C or S) and needs to have a VGA output to drive my dinosaur of a Plasma that I have up there (was £2500 in its heyday ), unless I manage to graft a HDMI or DVI connector onto the circuit board (currently has a 26pin DFP connector ).

Turned it off after the Train bit.

Could see it going the same way as all the others. Oh look, Hammond has a small Mini. Lets buy him a Double Bass !!!!!
