COB's carving out his own little niche as a moral authority - he's had a child, you see.

I have no problem with the princes, I am no fervent royalist but they seem decent, fun loving lads, remember they lost their mum in tragic circumstances which regardless of whoever you are is tough.

It does surprise me how many royal males do end up flying helicopters, I suspect that there is a certain amount of "who you know" in the equation but so what, if they can actually do it, there granny is the queen and lets face it life isn't always fair and just. It stands to reason that they will be afforded better protection than the average forces personnel, every soldier is precious to their families, they are no different or special in that regard, but they do have national importance that even I don't have them getting hurt or killed could cause international ramifications and alter history, at the very least their C/O wont want them getting blown to bits laid at his door, even more so than he doesn't want the death of a normal soldier.be honest,

To be honest I have no envy of them, I think it is tough being a royal, not in terms of materially, they dont have to scrim to make ends meet or anything but being in the limelight all the time, the press on your case every minute of the day looking for that one photo or recording, the public spotting you whenever, having to travel with secret services grunts, nah sounds like a bit of a pain in the **** to me. Good luck to them, I think that if we are going to have a monarchy then I think we could do a lot worse than William as King, as I get older I also think that the monarchy does give us, as a country a bit of international kudos as really we are the biggest on the world stage that has one and it does generate interest and tourism.

There, the Windsors will sleep easily in their beds knowing they have my approval

I've no opinion on the Royals so no need to back Jeff up. He's a mate, yes but capable of looking after himself I'm sure. Well against the likes of you anywho

Royal or no royal, it's not easy to fly a helicopter. Especially the most advanced weapons system in service as Harry does. They probably get a lot of basic training short cuts being who they are but the still have the ability.

No one can help which part of society they are born into.

I have not yet seen him do anything which was particularly wrong and he is doing a useful job to say the least. I am sure you might think the same way if you were dragged out of the sea with him piloting the chopper. Incidentally he would have done the full training course to earn his wings. He would not be doing the job unless he was fully up to standard.

It is worth remembering that the Duke of York spent time hovering his chopper by his ship in the Falklands war to act as a decoy for any missile fired at the ship!

I think you are allowing your obvious hate for the monarchy to rule your attitude in general.
