Okay cheers for the info, yep think a play about with wheel colour / choice would just finish the car off.
interesting that the sti has worse fuel economy than the rs- 30mpg on the rs as opposed to 25 in the scoobie- that has got to be motoway figures. as 30mpg on a 340bhp rs around town is surely just not going to happen ??!!
asked about focus rs figures on here just the other week and was advised as low as single figures during serious play and high teens on local runs ??!!
how does the insursance compare ?? have to say the rs looks a cracking car to look at and the seats personally best ones I have ever seen in a car apart from maybe the Audi rs ones ??

27/28 mpg around town on a 305 bhp focus rs ?? have to say that is excellent and to be perfectly honest very, very surprsing ?? the rs must be mapped very well to give these figures as I know the much lowered powered focus st is renowned for extremely poor mpg figures and from what I have learned from a few local owners struggles to achieve low 20` around town.
my own standard blobeye wrx at just 225bhp week in week out achieves just 23mpg during town driving.
so again have to say 27/28 around twon in a 340bhp rs sounds excellent !!
not technically / mechanically minded but just wonder what causes one car to achive such low fuel consumption figures compared to a car offering higher bhp figures and better figure,s is it down to how the car is mapped perhaps ??
have read before that the wrx is renowned for throwing the fuel in hence the poor mpg figures and that a decent remap can actually improve these figures .

I recently sold my RS. My car was Mountune MR375 tuned, and my average was 26/27 MPG. Don't forget that the RS is only FWD, and so doesn't lose power on the drive-train as an AWD car like the Subaru does. As for the ST, it has a smaller turbo than the RS and comes in at lower RPM therefore using more fuel. If you can keep the revs low in the RS, it's possible to achieve incredible fuel figures. But it feels very strange being overtaken by everything else on the road, and I just couldn't do it. The noise of the five pot is very addictive.

Yes they are mate, and I made some very good friends off the site, and I still go on all the time. Loved my RS, but not had any work for two years so it had to go. Hope you are enjoying the scooby, I'm hoping to get one soon as I can sort something out work wise.
