Governments have created a system of fractional reserve banking - hand in hand with banks.
So banks play both a private and civil function.
it is not as simple as Governments borrowing money from private banks - everyone borrows money from banks as the system of credit drives economic growth.
Change will need to come on a global scale and yet there is no fiscal model that is ideal - this is merely one of them that was allowed to get out of control.

Oh **** off! They can get a lift FFS. If they're that "infirm" that they can't make it then maybe special arrangements to have their vote registered at home (and not be rellies either). But NO postal voting - I guess you're unaware of the amount of fraudulent voting that happens this way?
As fo0r a "British Bill of Rigyhts", that cracks me up even more than the ncurrent "bill" we have. We don't NEED rights. We have them already as free human beings that live, supposedly (we keep getting told by our political masters!), in a democracy. What is needed is merely a bill to set out the limnitations of government! i.e. they need to stay the **** out of peoples lives.

I do completely understand how the postal voting system is open to abuse, and therefore needs tightening up, but to say that old folk should 'get a lift' is just silly.
My 'Irony-o-meter' went off the scale when you said you wanted the government 'to stay the **** out of our lives' yet to feel that the 'government' should legislate to make people vote - surely not!
By far the biggest issue is the ridiculous first past the post system, not postal voting or making voting compulsory.
If we want more people voting then we should make the politics more engaging and relevant to peoples lives.

This is the conundrum of modern finance.

All the misery caused by debt. Whole countries on their knees because of it, from money which did not ever exist
Aren't certain US states trying out micro economies and interest free money...

I would initiate a program which would put this country and its people as a priority at all times.
To hell with all the initiatives which are purely to gain popularity but never actually seem to happen and would not do for years ahead anyway.
We seem to be stuck with politicians of all colours who are more concerned with their own careers above all else and the people are of little importance except when the next election is coming into sight. How can we trust those who are prepared to tell bare faced lies in order to claim the maximum possible on their expenses. The last lot were well and truly guilty of buying votes and we don't seem to be seeing a lot of improvement.
We need positive real action to get this country back on its feet and the actions necessary should be taken without fear or favour.
Proper decisions and sensible actions would bring its own advantages anyway when it came to election time again. This country has to face up to the situation we have been left in by the last bunch of clowns and that there is no swift remedy. Unless however we get some real action by a strong leader who is prepared to stand up for us in decisions made if necessary in the face of the Eu diktats it won't happen.
We must become our own country again!

It was governments who created fractional reserve borrowing? I've always thought it was the banks. Still, how much does credit drive the growth of a country, could we do without this and abolish creating money out of thin air (as the banks do with fractional res lending?), why are governments obsessed with sustainable growth, when to me, this situation, permanently, is impossible?

To get sustainable growth from here - an economic climate characterised by malinvestment on a massive scale - we need to take the medicine. Sustainability comes with prudence. Prudence is boring and painful at times. Since politicians in this age run as far as they can from anything either boring or painful, we're a million miles away from anything approaching sustainability, and we will remain that way for some time yet.
By the way, the misery is not caused by debt or the fractional reserve system per se, but by those in control of it. They've made some mistakes (which would have seemed perfectly innocent at the time) and they don't want to have to deal with them. Unintended consequences.

Many of the above, plus abolish the NHS for most episodes of healthcare for most people. Then it would be a safety net for people who are actually ill and also poor, rather than a system that makes everyone wait unless they want to pay twice, whilst others that haven't paid for it abuse it to drag it down to their level.

Secondly, are you able to back up your accusation by detailing exactly where you say that I cut and pasted my post from another thread?

simple for me anyway,
draw a deadlline date 31st jan, after that we are full, no more immigrants,
make a compulsary £10 entry fee at uk customs for vistitors like they do in turkey,
compulsary voting for everyone.
unless you are unemployed, if you dont put in the system you dont get a say, (this would make the parties favour working people with their policies).
do away with the motability scheme, if you can drive a car you can get to work or become a courier driver.
huge supermarkets would not be allowed to make billions from selling beans and bread, they would get a super tax,
super tax for footballers, its incredible that a steady eddie footballer is better paid than a cancer surgeon.
compulsary 10 years if caught with a knife, no exceptions to the rule,
build alot of prisons, if ours are full the system isnt working, its not protecting victims.

Personally I would double the license fee but give all the extra money to the people behind frozen planet. Apart from a little bit that i would use on a new game show called 'The torture Chris Moyles show'.
