It's not loosing his car that'll hurt him, it's the cost of what/who he hits.

If he hits someones £20k car and causes the occupants £20k personal injury don't think for a second the insurers won't come after him to cover the payout.

No, i'm not saying that.
They can drive other peoples cars, but only occasionally, not the way you suggested.

You'd be suprised what some insurers will do if they suspect you're the main driver.

Seeing who's name is on the invoices in the service history, and questioning your neighbours as to who they see driving the car are two popular ones.

Who do you insure yours with stig and what car is it?

I have thought about doing this and driving it third party on my policy but dont know the ins and outs of this which would be good if moley could clarify on this as i thought you could drive any car with owners permission if you had any car third party in your policy.

It's with Elephant at the moment iirc.

I would take it for a year, that isnt bad for your age buddy, alot of people out themselves as named drivers and not the primary driver, which is technically fraud, as you are the primary user of the vehicle, not saying anyone has been found doing it but there probably is, but its not worth the risk, cause its a car you care about and you dont want them to turn around and say, sorry your insurance is void, odviously if you had an accident.

stick at it will be worth it man. not to mention pride of doing it for yourself

ive got my mum and dad named already in my quotes. Cheapest i can get is £2300 for 10 month but as soon as i go for monthly it goes up nearly 2k. Its as if you get punished for not having 2k spare in 1 go.

If you cant afford to run it in your own name then sorry mate scooby aint for you. Altho you can get away with driving it undr dads name yes it is illegal n its also another reason why are car insurance is stupid. Im 27 completed some hard advanced driving courses due to job 9years ncb and i can only get insured on a classic for £750 mate

Ive not said i cant afford it. I said i cant afford to pay in one go and as a consequence i get charged nearly 2k more to pay monthly just to be able to drive my own car.
