I sold my last scoob about 5 years ago and having bought one last year for the sake of nostalgia it just feels cheap, ruff and loud, I hate the thing. As I drive up the road at 1 million decibels setting off car alarms I just feel like a tit. Trouble with scoobs is that there are plenty of cars more comfortable with better interiors that are just as quick.

wtf??
im reading some serious cobblers on this thread...firstly if scoobs are soooo crap why are ppl still on the forum?? dont get me wrong, i hate the chavvy image of imprezas, the tacky-ish interiors (lets face it, theres a lot, lot worse out there) and personally im not a fan of pink stitching and decals..but when youve said all that theyre gr8, reliable, fun, and practical (for a saloon) cars with reasonable running costs for their performance...

my mate has a Porsche 993 C4, which is slower, classier and better made, but costs him a fortune for servicing and parts..beautiful though it is..
as for being too old?? i must be some sort of sad act who needs to grow the f*** up then..
ive been riding superbikes since i was a kid and currently own a Ducati and an MV Agusta, plus ive got my chav chariot impreza classic (oldie but goodie)..im 41, never married, no kids with a fit 29 yr old bird who ive been with for 4 yrs..
ive been thinking of selling the scooby either for an M3 (E46-best shape), or a newer, much, much more powerful modded Sti, or WR1 !!...
do i need to sort my life out??

Agreed. I'm 40 this year and not gonna be selling my scoob in a hurry.(the kids wont let me!) Got a boring golf diesel for day use, all the gadgets and comfort but every drive totally forgettable.

And my 8yr old has asked me to keep it for when he can legally drive!! ( he's already drove it on private land, well on my knee)

I bought one of these for my wife two years ago...

best of both worlds, all the luxury items you are after, very comfortable and the H6 engine is near silent at any speed. Unlike my impreza, no-one takes a second look at this car - it may as well be a vauxhall vectra.

Odd how fast things changed, I can afford to run it and I'm certainly under no pressure to sell it but I dunno .... I just feel like I need something more practical ... This time last year I was washing it weekly, adding little bits here and there .. Now I feel like I'm wasting it ..

Well I sold it and the missed decided she wanted a clio ..

So I bought a Clio 182 today

Quick little ****er it is too .. dunno how she plans to get the kids in and out .. but it has the ISO fix seats, so I guess it works and we have the 7 seater bus thing for anything out going ..

I sold my classic back in Aug 2010, replaced it with a Clio 172 cup but now have a hankering for a bug eye - you cant beat the flat four!

If you are like me, and I have a Mini Cooper now, you will miss the Scooby for a long time-I still do, but the Mini is a good little car for what is is, goes round corners on rails wet or dry, and it will save you quite a bit of cash.
