A lot to do what, get the styling? You right it's not expensive, but that's off topic isn't it.
The guy wants " UK spec bug eye to 300bhp"

As for AF Ia agree with some if not all his points in getting to 300bhp, but is an STI not a remap away from 300+, and almost all good STIs have had a map at some point, so finding one under 320 would be a challenge.

Full Decat or Sportscat exhaust from turbo back 2.5 or 3” bore.
Decat uppipe Pre turbo
Walbro 255 l/hr uprated fuel pump
K+N panel filter
Ecutek Custom ECU recalibration
Twin boost set up for high/low power switchable in-car****
AFP 04-H custom ported hybrid turbo
High Flow multi spray fuel injectors 550cc*(380cc as std)
Uprated turbo to intercooler 'Y' pipe*******
NGK PFR 7B uprated spark plugs
I'm guessing that lot would be £1500+?

Yes you are right. I was taking my point from an earlier comment about factoring in an STI scoop and undertray to fit with a STI i/c.

I agree with you on the list. He has a company and he wants you to buy his stuff, so not all is strictly necassary!

But you also said a STI is a remap away from 300bhp. In my particular case, i'm only a set of pinks and a re-remap from 300bhp due to (and in most other scoobs cases) previous owners mods. So to make mine into an "STI" i can get away with £400 spent on the engine? More to spend on the rest! Luck of the draw i suppose.

Anyway, i'm only getting us further from the original question, sorry.

Just a Turbo swap (vf35 ect) and a map will break 300bhp, we've done with the test mule, a set of headers will see you over 300bhp,ive seen 309bhp with my headers/vf35 and FPR. Of course the full decat will make things breath better and gain extra BHP but not required to break 300.

I didn't end up getting a scoob in the end, didnt get anything, other things came up .

Thinking about it again now though.

Would like an STI, but having looked, there aren't any in my £4k budget .

As a newage wrx owner I can say I wish I'd started with an sti......however after my first remap a few months in and having a MASSIVE engine rebuild as a result, I'm not parting with it lol but for me, I bought mine for my 21st birthday and wasn't insuring an sti (yes they'll insure me on a modded wrx but wanted stupid money for an sti when I bought it)....so if you can get an sti, do! If you can't, you can do it your own way from a wrx but it will cost ALOT more ££££

I'm looking for Bugeye STI for £4k too!! I haven't seen any either, although, I've seen some not to far off.

I reckon one will come along sooner or later! Just gotta wait!!

Although, the ones that I have seen that are closer to £5k than £4k have all been at the opposite end of the country to me!!! That's enough to put me off, even if one did come up at £4k.

Either way, good luck with the search!

I used to have a WRX bugeye, before it was written off.

I also wish I had just saved up and bought an STI. When I first joined scoobynet and asked for advice on my plans, Rob Day told me to sell my WRX and buy an STI. I WISH I HAD LISTENED!!!

I spent loads of £££, converted to twinscroll and got just under 340bhp on the rollers. Would have saved loads if I started with and STI!

I'm now looking for a bugeye STI!
