It seems that an impreza is the benchmark which other car drivers judge a car as quick, that's probably a big reason so many try it on

I was oblivious to this up until Friday when I picked up my new baby. I don't know what it is about being just outside of the M25 but god damn! I am used to pootling my wife's 1.2 turbs clio which attracts NO attention, so when I got in the Scoobs on a Friday night I actually couldn't believe how many chavs were all over my bumper from the word go. It has been like this all weekend and this week, it is crazy. I actually just sit there giggling half the time thinking about dual carriageway!

This is my first post on scoobynet, thought it would be rude not to sign up Hello to all fellow scooby owners!

If not for anything else, it will cost me 2 times as much in wasted juice than a pr!ck in the Saxo if I bite on it (metaphorically speaking of course, I'm in no way suggesting that all Saxo drivers are pr!cks).

I get it with Audi / vw tdi's. What makes them think the have the slightest chance? Most of the time I ignore them, or full boost after a roundabout and leave them for dead, without breaking the speed limit!

As for the german car bumper harassment... I had a C350CDI with 231bhp and 400ft/lbs as standard.. I jumped a fair few unprepared subaru owners with it.

I guess people want to see a car they aspire to own being used how they'd use it... aka, spanked.

I have to admit that I have annoyed Scooby/Skyline/Evo owners in the past by pulling alongside where safe (not up their ****!) and staring to annoy/encourage them into letting me hear it on boost... That was when I was in my Octy vRS, now I've got a Scooby I find a tunnel

I don't think I'm a Chav though, nudging 40 and no Burberry in sight!

Get it all the time. People seem to see a car like an impreza and its almost as if a lightbulb switches on, and they think, "RACE".

I just feel sorry for them they get so excited when they see cars like ours every so often, but we get to see them every day we look out onto our drive ways!

put in simple terms if you watch the boxing you want to see a knockout. if u see a scooby you want to see how quick it is. everyone knows that most scoobs will have been upgraded and also know they are quick cars even in standard form. i think they have become a victim of their own success. its a bit like when all the grunge fan boys liked nirvana in the early days then they got huge because they were a good band, everyone started liking them then the fan boys started to moan that they had "sold out" and "i liked them before they were famous" they tend to forget they got huge for a reason, because they were good. same with the scoob id say, seen a few posts on several forums moaning that chavvy types can afford these cars now. but you cant blame the chavs really can you? they like them for the same reason as everyone else. and you can get a modified scooby with 300 odd bhp for £1500- £2000. where else can you get that sort of performance per £ ? i used to do it when i was younger in my mk2 escort with carlos fandango 225,s all round lol. up the **** of a porsche 911 with 3 of my m8s egging me on to try an get the guy to floor it heh. it only bothers me when my kid is in the car otherwise i just ignore it.

I had the best ever experience of someone showing off last year. I was pulling off the A5 near Milton Keynes when a biker came flying up behind me. As soon as we got on the dual carriageway he nailed it past me on one wheel. Now for the best bit. At the next roundabout guess who's bike was lying at the side of the road in bits with its rider crying into his hands. Oh what a shame.

haha nice man i like it the same happend to me but it was with a evo he was on the wrong side of the road going around a corner at night! i could see him over taking about 4 cars on a stright behind me so i turn to the missis and said **** if i am letter him passed lol

i need to chill out though. some tw@ in a citroen c1 with all his mates in the back though it would be funny to pull out right infront of me when i was on the bike and every one of them thought it was hilarious and started laughing. i slammed on the ancors, locked both wheels up and thankfully didnt drop it. i overtook him slammed on, stopped in the middle of the road got off my bike, dragged the little pr1ck (who was no longer smirking) out the car and pasted him with my nice carbon fiber knuckled alpinestars.. the police were very annoyed at me when they asked if i felt i should have handled the situation diffrently to which i answered "nope"

Get it all the time in sleepy Cumbria
Mostly young boy racers in fiestas with viper stripes fabias with fake vrs badges and lots of grandad rover 200s complete with neverbeen stickers as the saxos & corsas have rusted away or been scrapped

They love a battle with my green wagon classic and are very curious about the wrxd and often stop to check with me that it is a diesel as its so rare on the roads

I suppose I was just As bad as them 28 years ago in my replica xr2 with a 950 ltr engine chasing the mantas and xr3i

But as pointed out above the scooby is an icon motor and they have all inspired to own one for the last ten years
That's why they want to see it and hear the exhaust at the lights

i found when driving up the m1 last week in my astra diesel which is old and knackered, cars would sit on my rear bumper pushing it along.
did the same journey yesterday to scoobyworld in my subaru and didnt have anyone sitting up my *** despite doing the same speed.
why waste fuel etc doing full bore starts in towns just makes you look a w*nker and attract unwanted attention from police.
the subaru is a well known for its performance and thats why every chav thinks his clio with a k and n filter is faster.
let them get on with it!
