Why ask if you weren't contemplating?
Ie the whole changing logbook details or insuring in someone else's name? You were asking for yourself not what others have done.

And I would try read your posts a bit better if they weren't written like some 12 year old stuttering chav.

aww thanks wiggy1 i will try them now see what they qoute and yer im going to purchase head gasket this week, but im still thinking while it all out should i start changing, oil pump,oil filter,fuel filter,other little bits and gaskets but im not looking to forge it yet just want to get it running cheapest and quickest way many thnks again

and yer brian i was bit stupid when i said is there anyway changing the logbook to GL becouse i didnt know Gl is a non-turbo i wouldnt insure mine as a non turbo when it is.. i will insure the car all leagal after i get some ncb behind me on some little runner about..
in mean time just going to get slowly get it how i want.
and it is 100% legal to be insured under someone name/ additional driver/. i.e mum/dad
as long as there the policy holder of the car so would need to sign logbook over to my dad etc

But if the insurers find out you are the main driver but it's insured in your dads name and under his ownership, you can still get sussed by your insurance company. It's known to happen as insurance only have to ask your neighbours etc who they see driving the car most often

Best of luck with fixing it up and hopefully you will be legit if your crash.

what does your dad do as a profession?, if hes in the motor trade bussiness or likes to perhaps sell some cars now and then and is a "motor trader.. lol" he can get a motor trade policy and put you as an employee, my old man pays £1000 a year and im on it as a named driver, and i have a uk turbo 2000, im 23, 0 NCB, been driving for 5 years though.. cheap as chips, been pulled tonnes of times, everything goood! ... company car. lol

yer i been in the car trade for the last 8 years but i cant get tradders insurance till im 25 so got little while yet, and my dad works at airport so i got no luck lol

when i was 12/13 i was working sat.. in a garage were i learned the basics eg... tyres,punchers,balancing,brakes,servicing,tracking with my step dad, then when i left school i went college learned mechanics and then body repair/ panel beating now ive worked for a few garages. and do my own thing on the side... im a hands on person didnt like school
