I think you would spare 90% of PMs and all this nonsence here if you would just post full specs at the begining.

I bet you have stunning engine to sell and if i would just sold mine..........

There really are some truly mad plonkers on here. Ive had the (misfortune) to race against John in this car and engine combo at MSA sprints and it is truly amazing. John has broken lap records, start times, and terminal speeds and hes trashed the times of Ferraris and purpose built track cars. If I had three and a half grand to spare I would be snatching it out of his hands. Some of the comments on here must be from people who only use their Scooby as an accessory. and cruise with their chavvy mates in Asda car park. If you have the ***** to use these cars the way they are supposed to be driven, then you would know what this is all about, if not, maybe mumsnet is a safer forum for you to join. I am running just under 400bhp and John has almost finished before Ive hardly started. If you ever race in the class "4wheel cars of any capacity" and you see John's car in the paddock , you might as well turn round and go home. Liz

I think the reason people started assuming things is due to the join date of the OP and the lack of posts. Everyone thinks "newbie" trying to fob off something thats not what he says it is.

If he'd told the whole story right from the start, then I believe all he'd have got would be and no hassle (not that I'm condoning the hassle at all either way)

John, is far from a newbie on here - he has been on here for quite a while but knowing him he forgot his previous user name and password.

He has a nice car in the 22B which as you can see has been totally motorsport prepared (and before the purists start calling for a Fatwa for defiling a 22B it was like that when he got the car ).

I have no doubt that if John has put an engine of his up for sale then it will be 110% right and would have been built without compromise or penny pinching.

I do believe that some of you may even know John from his regular trips to the Nurburgring and Spa, I am not affiliated with John before anyone asks I know him through South Wales Scooby's meets and have always found him to be a decent guy who doesn't suffer idiots and tells it like it is.

Ref, Lateral`s warranty that is not for me to comment on, but I will say is when you build any high performance units you only get what you pay for, Lateral do a lot of development and testing before they release any thing to the public, so I have no proplem in using any parts that come from Lateral or any third party who has used them.

John
I seem to have offended you, for that i apologise.

I don't have a PM from you John. Just because you are well known by some on here you shouldn't assume everyone knows who you are. £3500 is a lot of money (for some people), and most replies ask for spec.
Calm down, stop getting the hump and realise your mistake. I'd start a new thread with all spec if i were you, as you aren't coming across in a very good light, and i think most people that read this wouldn't consider buying an engine from you even if it was carved from Kelly Brook's vagina.

Good luck with the sale .

Noted, but there are restrictions on how you advertise on here.

No offence taken here, I answered your pm publicly as to let people know I would not be splitting the engine to sell off the parts.

Just received this info from Phil the Gentleman who built this engine.

Hi John

It`s obviously closed deck block and has early sti heads the type with shims fitting in the top of the valve caps, the cams where standard Sti.
When I originally built the engine I completely rebuilt the heads, re-cutting all valves and seats, fitted all new springs and stem seal. The block was bored and decked for me by Lateral. I fitted the new 2.1 stroker kit with comp bearings which where also supplied by lateral, with Marl pistons and his better H section 500 + BHP steel rods, its also got Cosworth anti surge sump plate and head bolt kit plus API HP oil pump. I built the engine correctly using plastigauge in all bearings (it was spot on to the book) The crank cases did not need any reliving to fit the 2.1 crank as is sometime the case, it was assembled with Morreys enhanced Mobil 1 and was changed every other meeting.

Again John some pretty fundamental things have been missed off......head stud? Uprated ARP's? 14mm stud conversion?

What sort of power has the engine been running? If it's been running over 450+bhp on standard headbolts I'm pretty sure the heads will have been close to lifting.

Again not meant to be detrimental to you or sale, but I am quite interested but obviously need as much info as possible, cheers!

My mistake for not reading Phil`s e-mail properly, he has comfirmed he did not fit ARP uprated studs, but infact carried out the conversion using 14mm Cosworth studs.
Teg-Sport set it up on the Dyno and if I remember it wright it ran around 476 BHP with 435 lb of torque at 1.8 Bar.
