The main issues is that Apple dont give you what you need, only what they want you to have, hence my comments that if you have more apple devices then go apple, if you have a brain and like to make your own choices then android

He'll try to twist what he said now, never one to own up and admit when wrong.

Anyone reading this thread will notice that no one has said anything against Android Tablets, I'm sure they're great. Then we have Tony trying to slag off the iPad and ending up sucking Lemons as once again he's proved wrong.

I would wait and see what the offerings are from Apple and Samsung in the near future, the biggest plus side to the Samsung is USB capability (with an adapter), the ipad doesnt have this.
Also read the reviews, in tests the Samsung does seem to edge it over the ipad, but its that close it will be down to whether you prefer IOS or Android.

Uploading pictures for example Jack, on the Samsung its plug straight into the camera, easy, on the ipad its upload them to your pc then off to your ipad.... quite a big advantage for the 10.1 i think, and now having played with both, the 10.1 seems to be the nicer to use, the apple looks the nicer with its metal case.

Carry on Jack, I dont need a card reader, I wont even have to remove the card out of the camera, just plug in and upload, all done, then delete off card and im ready to go again
Plus USB, as 99.99999999999% of all (decent) devices use this, its pretty much accepted universally, and I dont have to buy expensive apple junk

It only gets bad Jack when you start abusing people, and you wonder why we rip into you
You bite at everything when we say "its not as good as Apple", and to be honest Jack, they are getting beyond Apple technically, has been like that for quite some time now

Its only Apple, Apple, Apple for you, I point out a VERY big issue (actually there are more as the android tablet market have more adaptability to other devices/accessories than apple does), then you deny wrong doing and try to turn things round unfortunately it doesnt work Jack, you are too far gone for anyone to take notice of you now

I think the phrase I'm looking for is 'worms can opened of a' or something like that....
By what I gather there are upsides and downsides to both Android and Apple. I understand the restrictive nature of Apple but I don't think for the limited use I'll be subjecting it too that this would be a hinderance.
I'll be more interested in the speed and resolution [as I feel that the internet browsing of Apple and Android are pretty similar] of the product.
Not having looked but I also assume that the battery lifes are similar?
Connectivity of USB is a concern as I do has a DSLR and compact but if I was on holiday a small card reader wouldn't take up too much room.
Some good stuff [though handbags do seem to be drawn Jack/Tony ]. Sorry if I've stirred the pot, not my intention.
Cheers all..

There's another new Asus Transformer Prime coming out this year that might be worth a look. On a side note WiFi SD Cards will more than likely be out soon, so there will be no need to connect any cables to anything.
Edit: WiFi cards are already out, not cheap though. http://uk.eye.fi/products/mobilex2

And you're shown to be wrong, but you still crack on for another 10 posts, you just ignore the facts and stick to your propaganda.
Let me show you something Tony that's the adaptor - you even mention it - that you need to connect a camera to a Samsung Tab, you then slate the iPad for needing one. Mental.

Thing is ipads need extra equipment to accomplish what tablets half the price can do. That is not the major issue for me though its the complete lack of butons that pisses me off, and how slow itunes is and how expensive they are, and how restricive they are and .............

Luan, you have no idea what you're talking about. Your argument is like saying the iPad is **** because it doesn't have a knife, how are you supposed to eat your dinner without one. The control argument is rubbish too, Manufacturers have more control of Android, fact.

Then why did I find the iphone and ipods such annoying pieces of crap to own ? Why did my ipods keep deleting the music off themselves ? I base my dislike of Apple entirely on apple products I actually owned. If I genuinley thought that the ipad would not annoy the **** out of me I would have one. As it happens I have had 2 ipods, 1 3gs and 1 iphone 4. I have given Apple plenty of time to impress me to see what the fuss was about and they failed.

I can't understand why your iPods kept deleting music off themselves, I'm not saying it didn't happen but I've had 2 iPods I have an iPhone 4 and and iPad 2 and have never encountered that.
I have never known anyone else have that issue either.

Also one of my points was that I dont have to let apple go anywhere near my data, I should be able to upload my pictures to my home NAS drive via wi-fi (though I shall look into this a little more ) and I dont need to carry 10 million adapters around, one of my points, if apple dont provide it then they dont support it, I even had to get a non apple car charger because they didnt do one at the time works fine on the 3gs but doesnt support the 4....
Like I said originally before jack shouts "apple only, you will regret everything else" see what is coming, its not far off
Tony
PS, did i mention flash support?

Have a look at this, it might help your decision.

Your local Tesco must be getting short on Lemons you've been sucking on so many.

Tony I bought a non apple in car charger from Argos made by gear4 for less than £10, worked fine with my 1st and 4th gen iPod,s and guess what it works fine with my iPhone 4 as well, you should get one!
