I think Ian's car looks good; my personal preference is for subtly and a kick *** engine but then again I do drive an estate

First reservation for me then.
(edit) Cliff is that a Chargespeed air intake duct on the o/s of your car? I've been trying to find something similar for a while.

Looks good Cliff, that's a good idea and painting the inside a darker colour makes a difference. I may just pinch your idea as the Chargespeed ducts are around £280 for both sides for the carbon fibre version.

My CAIK is an APS and the filter is stuck in the wheel arch, so I want to just get some air flowing through the fog lamp cover area at the filter cone, but I do like the STi cover so I think I will just leave that in place.

Spoken to Harvey and he had this to say...
"The purpose of the scoop is to force air through the top mount and down the transmission tunnel. This adds to the flow of air in through the bonnet gap and radiator over the engine and down the transmission tunnel. From the testing I have done my advice is that the scoop stays.
Reverse scoops IMHO are a bad idea and removing the plates underneath the grilles on the bonnet are a bad idea if the engine bay remains standard. Gearbox cooling is another consideration and anyone fitting a 6 speed in place of a 5 speed will notice the increase in underbonnet temperatures if they monitor them accurately. This can be done with a max/min thermometer available from any garden centre for very little money.
Subaru intended air to go down the transmission tunnel and personally I would leave well alone.
Finally, anyone running a scoop without the appropriate underbonnet tray to seal on the edges of their TMIC is wasting their time."
