Only problem now is i just spent 2hrs looking at knives, i'm a bit of a collector off and on and just spotted a nice helle bushcraft jobbie that i fancy for when i go to india in a couple of months, this could get expensive as now i think i need one of the slightly bigger torches as well.

Any more recommendations.

Don't get me started on collecting, it gets very addictive.

This isn't even the full contents of my flat, and a new bow turned up last week!

And this is the latest creation from me, although I bought the blade, but I Can make them.

^^^

Your just like me and my three mates, they are brothers and one in particular has more guns, knives, swords ect than you can shake a stick at, part of the reason i bought my house out here in croatia is the hunting, and the fact that it's no big deal to be seen with a giant bowie, gun or bow, they don't think your about to become a mass murderer, arrest you and confiscate the lot, they just smile and want to take a look at what you have, i think between the four of us we could open a shop and not need to buy any stock.

I've been interested in getting into bow's for a while and bought a cheapo just to see how i liked it, and i'm not too bad at it, must be because i'm from notts it's in the blood,

Any sites you'd recommend.

Drooling over your collection by the way.

Depends where you are, and depends on what your intended use of them are. Hunting requirements are different from target.

Drop me a PM with what your looking for, and I'll point you in the direction of a reputable dealer (UK based).

Just received the little i3 EOS - tis a dinky little thing

Undecided at the moment. I suppose it's meant for fitting into small spaces essentially. Still, puts out a good amount of light on full in the total dark, but I think it will be in a smaller environment it will come into its own...

You do know you it's got 3 brightness levels? It's about as bright as a keychain light will get (apart from very expensive ones). You could always stick a li-ion battery in it, it'll do close to 300 lumems on li-ion!. I think it makes a very good keychain light, coming on with first twist nice and low and then obviously the two higher modes.

How does it compare to the photon freedom? Is it much better as a keychain light?

Do you mean e05?

People love them on candlepower forum but this is not a torch to buy if "you want to see what any fuss is about". It's a very low power keyring torch, single output 27 lumens. Personally I'd rather have a light with a proper lens and reflector with multiple outputs and higher output.

Lol

The i1 there will be a pretty bright little light, cr123 powered.

The BC25, I've never seen before. The latest jetbeam releases are crazy bright, I almost bought their single AA size light, forget the model number now but it does 600 lumens on a 14500 cell! Only reason I ddin't get one was because you loose all the lower modes when using a li-ion battery which is strange.

What does that bc25 run on? 2xcr123 or single 18650? Looks more 2xcr123 size?

It is, quite floody too with the XM-L and small reflector.

And yep, 2 x cr123 or 1 x18650 http://www.flashaholics.co.uk/jetbeam/jetbeam-bc25.html

Not Happy. MY order for the MAelstorm thing has been cancelled and monies returned :-) Been waiting for a good week, decided to email the company and was told about the cancellation.

So, Im back again looking around. Perhaps it was a good thing, as £150 quid for a torch was a bit excessive :-)

I have an AA maglite with a traditional bulb. It always seems low power when I come to use it (infrequently).

Would an upgrade to LED prolong the battery life when not in use?

If so, would I be better buying a new LED maglite, or an upgrade for my existing torch (about half the price)?

Wished I'd waited and listened

It's okay but I'd say no better than my photon micro light

Was hoping to be shocked and light the garden up with it!

Right James,if I could pick your brains and ask for the definitive key chain light I'd be grateful! Is it that a3 eos? Some of the stuff you typed was over my head!

Thank you

My Maglite’s have been a waste of space never turn on when you want it and if it does it never comes on full power (bad contacts I think not the battery)
Before reading this was thinking of an LED upgrade for it but ordered one of these instead http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2807829235...84.m1497.l2649
For the price its worth a go have heard stories of bad switches/soldering but am sure I can fix that and for the price reviews have been good (am not expecting it to be anywhere near 1000 lumens just better than the Maglite)
If it is any good might try the bigger 3x CREE T6 version

If you want something to light up the garden you don't really want a keychain light. An olight i3 with a 10440 Li-ion cell will be pretty impressive, or a 4sevens preon 1. The i3 on a regular 1.5v AAA will still do a genuine 70 lumens on max. *Li-ion batteries need respect charging and are not to be drained too low etc.

If you want the best, wait for this http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/...rogress-Part-2

The i1 EOS would be pretty bright (as warren said) but that's slightly fatter, runs on cr123 batts.

Some of the best 'wow' for their size are single cr123 size, they are small and very bright because the batteries are 3v.

Does it have to be keychain?

Klarus make a good simple single cr123 which puts out about 240 lumens and they're under £30. Not keychain size though.

Jetbeam make some crazy bright little lights. Pa10 single AA size will do 650 lumens on a Li-ion 14500. Pc10, single cr123 size will do 550 lumens on rcr123 (rechargeable 123 size batt)

Li-ion batts require specific chargers though, but you need the voltage if you want crazy bright.
